However this battle concludes, I think it's fair to say Hara is complete ass at these one-and-done battles.

The quality of these battles (Eitou, Hango, Gi'an) don't hold a candle to the multi day, multi phase battles of Keiyou, Bayou, Sanyou, Coalition, etc.

To be fair, drawing out the pages for these multi-day phase battles, which stretch across tens of chapters, with the level of quality he's maintained in recent chapters, is an exhausting task. Releasing weekly chapters with artwork of that caliber can't be done forever.

It's reasonable for Hara to take shortcuts occasionally and have a battle conclude in just a few chapters.

I don't think one-and-done battles are inherently bad, Hara is just bad at doing them.

There's no sense of tangible progression. It's more tell than show, whereas the older battles in series all very much showed us the battle progressing. All battles have phases, even short ones, it's really on Hara to use the strength of the medium to communicate that, and I don't think he's done a good of that.

Shoutout to @Mazino and their team, I was confused whether I should post this before or not cause I saw you guys working hard and this is probably from some other team. Anyway for the general fandom, the translated chapter link is above, not sure about translation accuracy or shit like that.

Looks like Shin will be ending the fight with Haku'ou Koku at the start of the next chapter.
He should have listened, and he would not have to lose his life here.
I really like how all the units are getting a little bit of a look in this battle.
Would be a waste if it was still only Shin and Kyou Kai given that he is a real general now.

It’s a bit of a shame that we never saw a bit more of Haku’s versatility with tactics and strategies. But I understand why the contest reached its climax quite quickly

My boy Shin is top tier guy, right now, necessity all Han's fighting force to Nerf him, to Haku being able to handle Shin.

Like, guys only Zhao or Chu has Generals who can fight Shin with any nerf.
