Chapter begins with Shin holding the old ***** knife, Garo and Denei are pissed but shin tells them not to interfere and shut up. Shin tells the old man that he must have a strong resolve to attempt to kill him, especially knowing the entire HSU would get involved then he asks the old man “why did you attempt to take my life?”
The old man says that his daughter and grand children were brutally killed some years ago. The townspeople said it’s been over twenty years and the old man responds saying “Yes, it has been 20 years, and for twenty years I remember that horrible sight, every single day” Denei says “old man, I sympathize with you, but in no way did the HSU have anything to do with that, so get rid of your dagger!” Shin says that the old man doesn’t have to get rid of his dagger, the old man is within his rights(or some shit it’s weird). Everyone is confused and Shin starts cooking.
Shin: “The time it takes for pain to disappear is different for each person. Is it a year? Is it ten years? What happened to this old man was twenty years ago, but for HIM it feels like it was yesterday. If we rudely tell him to endure it, it will involve the other residents as well. Because there are those that can endure, and those that are incapable of thinking that way.” The stupidass watermark blocks out what Garo says, but I’m pretty sure he brings up bihei needing to get bacc to his village to their loved ones I’m pretty sure Garo is calling shin selfish here but again the watermark.
Anyways, Shin then says something along the lines of “if you do certain things, it has an irreversible effect. Like using force to control. Qin aims to unify China, he doesn’t necessarily want to rule all of China. Grandpa, we want to create a world where these tragedies don’t happen. Where I am not a person from Qin, and you are not a person from Han. Someday, we’ll live mixed together both sharing pain and joy, i am sure that is the world we are going to create.”
“To achieve that, we have to do difficult things now. But outside of the battlefield, Qin soldiers need to be considerate of all others. Those who are in pain must carry their anger and resentment with them and move forward…which is going to be much more difficult for those that aren’t Qin soldiers, that is why I will not take his blade by force. Gramps, I will wait for you until you can move on with your pain, until then, you can try and stab me as many times as you like and I will continue to quietly shut it down, until you can put down the blade yourself.” “Gramps, I know this is hard, but please understand this, you are stuck in that moment from twenty years ago, the pain will be there forever, but your daughter and granddaughter are long gone…but for a long time..” Then the spirits say “the two of us have been by your side” then it shows the daughter and granddaughter” and shin says “I know you don’t want to hear this from someone like me but…” Then the old man starts crying his ass off and they decide to call it a night.
Kyourei says “the captain is so cool sometimes” and kyoukai says “sometimes”
Then we get the narrator box says something like “The incident involving a Han official attempting to assassinate General RiShin of the Qin Dynasty never spread.”
“The residents who were there felt like they would be punished later, and when that didn’t happen they were surprised and relieved. And somewhere around that time..it felt as if the relationship between the HSU and citizens of Nanyou had gotten a little closer”
Kyoukai then pops up on shin and asks what’s wrong and shin says Garo was right that his thoughts are pretty selfish. He asks kyoukai if she agrees and she says yes. “Since we were disarmed, we should have checked them as well, because if you had really been stabbed the situation would have become uncontrollable. But if you hadn’t done what you did, I don’t think your words would have had as much impact on residents’ hearts.”
Shin asks if it really resonates and kyoukai says “yeah, perhaps. Idk tho” and shin gets pissed off. Then kyoukai says “even so, I can’t imagine what’s to come, we are aiming to unify China. When I think about it, this situation will be happening all over the entire country.” Then Shin says “but Tou said we will turn Nanyou into a utopia, if this place is done, we will do the same once again and continue to walk besides Sei.” Kyoukai asks if it will really be that easy and shin says no and she asks “Can I say one thing? If YOU could find the answer to this problem in your head, you would have solved it a long time ago. So don’t worry about it too seriously, leave it to the King. Even so, I’m glad that night happened.”
Then Kyourei calls out to Shin and says “Captain hurry up and get down here it’s drill time! Kai-nee you slut you’re up there flirting with the captain???” Then it cuts to the big ***** who are all saying Shin is small. They’re a mountain tribe that is based at the foot out the mountain and everyone in their village is tall. Then the ***** with the fast horses they control horses and some even say their leader can talk to horses. Then the **** neighs like a horse and says “sorry, that was horse language, I’m the ‘captain (insert name idk)’.
Then they point to the last group that are from a stateless area in the west(doesn’t say if it’s the one Ouki had shin training in so don’t ask), they say their combat skill is high but they’re rugged. Kanto says he’s had multiple brawls with their squad leader. I THINK kanto says he’s been saying that the captain should show off his strength and shin says he’ll do it and says he’ll train them personally, alone. One of them new ***** is like “oh?” And shin says “yeah, gather your group together and get serious”
Then shin starts thinking “I can’t keep worrying about Nanyou, I know Nanyou is important, but the most important thing is that we win minimal casualties. Next up is Shintei, the royal capital, the end of that battle will destroy an entire country, I’m sure the ferocity will be something unlike any of my previous battles. So that is why I will start with my HSU, with all of my might, I will forge it like steel!” In between all of that the new ***** say “kukuku if we kill the captain, that means we’ll be the ones to get promoted”
Then Ten calls out to the army and says “Gather everyone who is a hundred man commander or higher and those that I am about to name! We will now announce the new military composition of the Hi Shin Tai!”

From the sounds of it, we are about to get an updated graph of this.
I hope Garo is at least a 3K Commander now. He should've been the one eligible for 5K Commander alongside So Sui.
