I have been getting MASSIVE Katakuri vibes from Kizaru in the last two chapters.

At the end of the Katakuri fights, he asks Luffy if he'll come back to take down Big Mom later.

After getting that answer, Katakuri falls. Many people, myself included, believe that after seeing Luffy's resolve and having his own ideals challenged, Katakuri decided to fall upon learning that Luffy could save him and his siblings from Big Mom one day.

In the last few chapters, Oda has gone out of his way to humanize Kizaru more than before, and we even get this line from him.

"It would be nice if I could add 'old friends' to that list."

I think Kizaru will go down similarly to Katakuri. He'll have a moment where he recognizes Luffy's resolve and realize Vegapunk is safe with him. At that point, after some massive clash, Kizaru will allow himself to fall.

Yeah the Kizaru laugh in the flashback is foreshadowing 100%

He feels a lot more like a Katakuri-type antagonist than an outright villain like Akainu and Kaido right now.

There will definitely be some development or revelation about his character during the fight.
Kizaru so far hasn’t done anything worse than Katakuri who killed the chefs just for accidentally seeing his face (if they survived it is due to one piece bullshit. He literally attacked with super hardening and stabbed them)

Literallydefeating Sentoumaru was low justified as he would have endangered the fleet otherwise

He also avoided killing Sentomaru opting to just KO him and was clearly reminiscent during the fight.

In what way? Like when he beat his lifelong apprentice and friend into submission in the name of duty? That seems exactly like something Akainu would do, lol.
Garp was fighting Kuzan for like 10-20 minutes and constantly overwhelming him without a second thought, but he also let Luffy take him down in Marineford to save Ace, don't know why it can't be the same with Kizaru here.
But then again, Kizaru did obliterate Luffy and his crew in Sabaody, I don't know if Luffy can just let that slide honestly.

Essentially you're saying that Kizaru is Kata 2.0?
And that Akainu is Big Mom 2.0, as in not a Luffy antagonist?

Well, well, well.... :myman:
I think Dragon is Akainu's main fight.

I mean how can you deny it at this point?

Garp vs Kuzan (Monkey D vs admiral)
Luffy vs Borsalino (Monkey D vs admiral)

The third variant is obvious.

Akainu would also not stfu about Dragon at Marineford.

Yeah, and he literally had to beat Sento or he the whole marine fleet might have gotten destroyed by the sea beasts, enjoy the 30k casualties lol. He even tried to make Sentoumaru surrender twice (Before the fight and during it) but he made his choice. Technically Kizaru was just doing his job while Sentoumaru betrayed his organization lol
