I have been getting MASSIVE Katakuri vibes from Kizaru in the last two chapters.
At the end of the Katakuri fights, he asks Luffy if he'll come back to take down Big Mom later.
After getting that answer, Katakuri falls. Many people, myself included, believe that after seeing Luffy's resolve and having his own ideals challenged, Katakuri decided to fall upon learning that Luffy could save him and his siblings from Big Mom one day.
In the last few chapters, Oda has gone out of his way to humanize Kizaru more than before, and we even get this line from him.
"It would be nice if I could add 'old friends' to that list."
I think Kizaru will go down similarly to Katakuri. He'll have a moment where he recognizes Luffy's resolve and realize Vegapunk is safe with him. At that point, after some massive clash, Kizaru will allow himself to fall.
