suicide isnt as taboo in japan but its still something people dont really like to talk about. "fell down the stairs" isnt a specific euphemism but people kill themselves for the specific reasons kuina was upset all the time irl, and people use all kinds of things to make it sound like it wasnt suicide out of politeness
