Ida never had any ambition to become queen, while Harald clearly had every reason to stay king. He wanted to change the country and its culture, and we know he succeeded. He may have been an absent father, but we still don’t know that for sure.
Kuma, on the other hand, I just can’t defend from that angle.
People love to joke about Dragon, but the one who should have gone to Mary Geoise to try and save Ginny was Kuma.
What was he hoping for? That Ginny would somehow manage to escape from Mary Geoise on her own after being enslaved? For years he does nothing, even though he has no news about her? If she had managed to escape, she would’ve found a den den mushi and called them, just like she did when she was already on the verge of death.
Ginny was abandoned by everyone. From Dragon, I can understand it. The life of one person shouldn’t risk the entire revolutionary army. Sacrificing one for the greater good is justifiable. But from Kuma? Not nearly as much.
If I were Oda, I would've made it so that Kuma and the others didn't know Ginny had been taken by the Celestial Dragons, and only found out at the end when she contacted them. That would've worked way better.
