Kuzan is a Nika worshipper. He joined the BBP for the sole purpose of sabotaging Teach, so that Luffy can become PK.
Ultimately, Kuzan actually supporting Teach makes no sense. While he did have issues with Akainu, the dude was Garp’s protege and a life long marine. There’s absolutely no reason for him to start loving pirates.
He even told Smoker he’s the same guy he always was.
Then why’s he with Teach? It all comes back to Nika. We know Saul is in Elbaf, that he saved the O’Hara books, and that he was in contact with Vegapunk. Given his ties to elbaf, VP, and O’Hara, Saul more than likely knows about Nika. He likely made the connection between Luffy and Nika.
My guess is that after his loss to Akainu, Kuzan visited Saul in Elbaf. Saul told Kuzan about Nika and Kuzan, having witnessed Luffy’s journey, realized that Luffy was Nika. I’m guessing Kuzan became a Nika worshipper at this point.
In order to ensure it was Luffy who reached One Piece and not Teach, Kuzan joined the BBP crew for the sole purpose of sabotaging Teach so that Nika Luffy could reach One Piece.
I think it’s possible that Kuzan is also in league with Shanks and that they are both working together to make Luffy PK, tho Shanks is a bit of a wild card so idk.
