Since it was confirmed in Dressrosa that Blackbeard and Kuzan had some kind of relationship, I always had this suspicion, and subsequent events have really confirmed it.
First of all, it is curious that Kuzan was related to Blackbeard, a guy who left the navy because his morals prevented him from obeying Sakazuki. He joins a crew of immoral assassins? Before Dressrosa, the most logical thing was that he was related to the revolutionaries or something like that.
After it was confirmed that he had a relationship with Blackbeard, people thought that he was an infiltrator or something, well, the reality is that they met by chance in a bar and Blackbeard simply said "hey! Do you want to join?"
As if that were not enough, it was confirmed that Kuzan was a subordinate of Blackbeard instead of having an alliance like Law and Luffy, this ties him even more to Blackbeard.
So, Luffy is going to go to war with the navy after Egghead, at the same time there is likely to be the fight between Shanks crew and Blackbeard's crew.
My idea would basically be that Luffy defeats Sakazuki almost at the same time that Shanks defeats Kuzan, which would give a sense of competition between the two.
Just think about it, it's the solution I find to Oda having done something as forced as putting Kuzan in Blackbeard's crew and at the same time the only use Kuzan can have because the guy is a literal bum, what can be his use?
