I think he is denjiro. and he still loyal to oden, that is why he had hiyori under him and he only pretended to end her with orochi, he did this to infiltrate enemy in tthe last 20 years and get info for the battle now. and he is behind making orochi look crazy by pretending the scababrds are just ghosts and orochi is crazy for thinking is real so they don't expect the scabbards

yasu was sitting next to them and they didn't recognize him. lol

and so far we didn't see the scabbards meet kyoshiro that seems to have changed his hair completely, and could also be because kyoshiro is the new name they don't know, denjiro is his real name.
