Theory Laugh Tale is a "Looney Tunes" Island

#1
After chapter 1044, the relationship between the comedy and the treasure that Joyboy left on the final island becomes evident. After all, why would Roger and his crew laugh at a tragic story if it wasn't actually funny? Well, I think Eiichiro Oda just gave us the biggest clue to what Laugh Tale Island is all about.

First of all, no matter where Laugh Tale is, she can be anywhere. What really matters is what's in it. What will the Strawhats see when they land on the island? Well, for that we'll use the same logic as in Whole Cake Island. Stay with me, this will be fun.

As they approach the island, strange things start to happen: the ship enters a region where the heat is intense, and Luffy eats a poisoned fish. Upon landing on the islands of Totto Land, the Mugiwara come across a place inspired by Alice in Wonderland, where everything is magical and made of candies, full of enemies that are part of the "living scenario", with various traps and absurd obstacles.

Well, let's try to apply the same narrative to Laugh Tale: the ship enters a completely inhospitable region, and Luffy tries to eat a rubber fish. Upon landing in Laugh Tale, the Mugiwara come across a place inspired by Looney Tunes, where everything is ridiculous and made of rubber, full of enemies that are part of the "living scenery", with various ridiculous traps and obstacles that are directly inspired by cartoon. TNT explosives everywhere, scenarios that constantly change shape and open dangerous shortcuts. Mirages such as "food" that attracts Luffy and "pretty women" that attracts Sanji, but which are nothing more than funny jokes inspired by Roger Rabbit.
Now that you've got the idea for Whole Cake Island, I'd like to continue imagining this funny script.

They find a drum in the middle of the forest and a funny warning saying: "DANGER! Beat this drum as hard as you can to escape this crazy forest!" Until, unintentionally, they find the One Piece Treasure. And then: DOOOOON!!!!!

But wait, why did this all happen?! Well, with the recent revelation that Luffy can turn the ground into rubber to use it in a fight, we can conclude that this is an ability caused by the awakening of the Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika. The awakening that allows the user to use rubber to cause laughter and fight without limitations, as if he were in a cartoon. That said... what if Joyboy had awakened the island of Laugh Tale 800 years ago? Completely altering the environment, making it completely fun through his imagination. This is Laugh Tale. And it's worth remembering that in all Oda's illustrations about Laugh Tale in the manga, the island always appears surrounded by clouds. Could it be an effect caused by awakening, exactly like what happens to Luffy who is surrounded by small clouds by his heat?

Moving on... What is One Piece? Yes, it is literally One Piece of Theater. A Play which is composed of three things that together form the theatrical play: Music, Script, Scenario. Well, come to think of it, we have the three things in the manga that would make up this Play:
  • Music: Binks Sake
  • Screenplay: Poneglyphs
  • Scenario: Laugh Tale
When Joyboy's drum beats, these three things begin to come together and the island begins to transform into a real piece telling the whole story of the Void Century, in the funniest and most ridiculous way possible, while Binks Sake is played. A funny story, that even Roger cried and laughter, the greatest fun treasure left by Joyboy.

That's All Folks!

Alice In Wonderland and Roger Rabbit are both decidedly NOT Looney Tunes properties, which is maybe the fourth or fifth item on the list of problems with this theory kingufy

Funny theory and honestly, respect for coming up with something like this! ;)

As One Piece is a japanese shonen manga and always had more asian / japanese themes to it I guess something like american cartoons would be too much of a culture shock and while some things could be compared to Alice in Wonderland I´d be surprised if Oda would dare something like this. However, some aspects of this theory seem interesting and I can´t fully deny it.
