Oda portrays Kid and Law as equals, despite the fact that the two have different strengths(ex. Kid is a better fighter, Law's attacks are more lethal).
With Kid having CoC, it's very likely that in the future, Kid could have ACoC. When this happens, I think Law will get a parallel power up in order for the two to be equals. imo that power up will be magma.
In one piece, flame abilities are some of the strongest powers in the series. They are so strong that Oda even portrays them being capable of rivaling ACoC. A good example is how Zoro got ACoC, while Sanji got blue fire, in order to beat opponents with a similar bounties. The strongest of all fire abilities is portrayed to be magma, which allowed Akainu to fight on par with WB, an ACoC user.
In wano, the way Kid and Law beat Big Mom is by first having Law create a hole to the magma, with Kid then using damned punk to push big mom into the magma. I think by EoS, Law won't need Kid's help to make this strategy work.
Law will be able to create rooms so big, that he can simply shambles magma to the surface and then use takt in order to manipulate it and attack with it.
In the past, Law has used takt with rocks, in the future, he will do it with magma. I think this is a perfect progression of Law's powers, as it fits well with Law's high lethality moveset.
