Yo guys I am back with one.
Let's straight up dive into it: I think Oda is far from done with Vegapunk and Oda might have huge plans for Lillith in the new Elbaf arc.
What pointed me again towards this idea is the recent chapter 1129 where Oda shows us the miniature kingdom in Road's room.
The entire human kingdom is fitting into a huge giant room. We see road is capable to move alot of steps into this room and the ceiling is high. So I expect this to be a huge room like a dining room or a church room. Still this puts alot into perspective for us. How huge will Elbaf truly be? And the real adventure has not even started yet!
In Alabasta we learned that the river that Vivi, Luffy and co had to cross, was about 30 miles wide. That river is massive and it tells us that the One Piece world is supposed to be bigger than what you would expect comparing it to our world. From Oda's birdeye shot of Alabasta we can deduct that the island of Alabasta might be as big as Australia in the real world.
Possible inconsistencies aside, Oda loves to throw around these huge numbers and scales, because I think he always had kept Elbaf in mind as a longterm story stop point.
Elbaf will be especially huge imho and we will learn it the hard way by possibly separating the cast on Elbaf and having days or weeks even pass before they either reunite or move to the next location. For giants probably a normality since they live for a few hundreds of years, for normal ningen a huge pain and possibly a reason for why Elbaf might be less attractive to regular sized human races.
I think we need to overcome this challenge during Elbaf!
The Solution
I think Lillith will be the solution for this problem, who else if not for science itself?
Oda has successfully managed to tie Vegapunk as a character to the mythologic figure of Icarus. If you don't know: Icarus made himself wings of wax and attempted to fly towards the sun, his wings melted due to the approaching heat and he fell into his death. A metaphoric tale about reaching too extreme heights and crashlanding into one's doom.
A reference and metaphor Oda has used on Vegapunk.
Funnily Oda has played with the idea of Icarus before. With this character:
His name is Ikaros and he wears an aviator/pilot type of helmet.
I think Oda has always planned to introduce some sorts of flying devices or flying ships into the story, so why not in Elbaf with the help of Lillith?
I very likely think that these flying devices created by Lillith in future, possibly, could help out all the regular sized humans visitting and traveling Elbaf. Afterall...after the Ikarus reference of Oda, Vegapunk still managed to fly off from Egghead with the cloud device in order to save Punk Records and fulfill his dream of creating some sort of Internet.
Lillith's character might have to conclude at some point, I think giving her this task of bringing a technological change to Elbaf would be the absolute best solution for these sorts of plotlines. This doesn't need alot of investment, can be done most of the parts offpanel and it can involve assistance from the Strawhats, as of the likes of Usopp and Franky for example, but also the muscle powers of a Zoro for example.
Finger's crossed for Lillith atp, I really wish for the story and for the character, for something to happen on Elbaf.
Remember, on the cover story of the Wings of Icarus chapter, we see Yamato's travel map for Wano. Think about it.
Hope ya'll enjoy and see ya around.
