I was curious about Green Bull's tattoo. I heard it translate to Love Suicide River of Death. I decide to once again look at folklore/history. There are 2 rivers of death in japan called Sanzu River & Sai no Kawara. There is a mention children who died too young and an old women who prayed for 7 days and put horse hoof into hot water to cool it. This helps children get to the afterlife. The old woman is called Arikura-no-baba. Another women associated (Datsue-ba) make dead children realize it is impossible to reach paradise by piling stone til they reach heaven and a male god save the children by hiding them in his clothes and transporting them to paradise (heaven)(Bodhisattva). These details are reflecting Yamato/Tama/Momo.
The next big thing I was curious about was a genre called love suicide in japan. There is a story called The Love Suicides at Sonezaki. The story is about a couple committing suicide together because they can't be together. The male protagonist of the story is put in an arranged married by his family but he does not love the woman. He is in love with a prostitute. The uncle already put down money to arrange the marriage and fire him from his company and forces him out of town for refusing. The protagonist mother already accepted the money from the uncle which complicate things. After the male protagonist collects the money from his mother, he loans it to a friendly associate who was a love rival for the prostitute. The friendly associate does not return the money and plots to kill the male protagonist with his gang and use the money to free the female protagonist from prostitution as his wife. The male/female protagonist agree to commit suicide at their hopeless situation ending the story.
If an event like this happened in one piece here are a few way I think it might happen.
Scenario (1) Luffy and Yamato are the lovers. Law/Ryokugyu want Yamato. Yamato might be able to control pluton which is his reasoning. Law/Ryokugyu betrays luffy and a fake out death happens
Scenario (2) Momo/luffy and Tama are the lovers, Ryokugyu want tama for her ability to control animals (Sea Kings). Momo/luffy hands over something that make their situation hopeless.
Scenario (3) Yamato comfort a dying momo/tama after Ryokugyu attack.
