As for your question, Luffy is the captain, Zoro is the underling. Underlings are expendable, finally Luffy is realizing that.

Did Luffy not think Kin’emon would pull through?

The situation with Kinemon and the Scabbards were different. Luffy felt bad for not making it there sooner, knowing they stood absolutely no chance against Kaido, and if he had been even a moment later they'd all be dead.

Luffy has seen Zoro survive the impossible before. He has absolute trust that Zoro and even Law would pull through this. He thanked them for what they did for him, and said it was ok for them to go back downstairs.

Not to mention, remember what happened the last time Luffy let his emotions get in the way during a fight. Instant KOed. Now's not the time for him to go all crazy and start attacking Kaido haphazardly. The stakes are way to high, and he needs to keep his emotions in check.

If Law joined the SH I would be abudantly enthralled by the notion but overall I just hope the supernova won't keep joining forces and stay with her crews and also meet at the final war, that would make the story more exciting.

This kind of started last chapter with Law and Kid of all people being the ones showing any concern for Zoro post getting Hakai’d. Luffy was off making fun of Kaido instead

Then in this chapter Zoro got Thunder Bagua’d while he was off guard while he was exhausted as hell and Luffy returns to the fight talking about being friends with the Samurai and he’s smiling at the end of the chapter telling an unconscious Zoro to go hype him up below the roof.

I don’t know, it feels weird to me. Is this Oda trying to show that maybe Zoro’s injuries aren’t that big a deal? Like I swear Luffy showed more concern for Kin’emon than Zoro.

I’m on the verge of saying this bad writing. What do you guys think?
