While Luffy has attained ACoA, allowing him to >presumably< tank hits from kaido as well as damage him, Luffy really hasn't faced up against Kaido's DF abilities. Rather, Kaido took Luffy out in his base form.
Given that Kaido is a mythical zoan, we know he has a hybrid dragon form and likely will have some sort of DF awakening on top of that which could possibly allow him to use partial transformation, like Marco did, amongst other things. In any case, we should expect that kaido has fully mastered his dragon abilities.
Hence, while its really good that Luffy has the ability to clash with kaido, Luffy needs to have some counters to Kaido's DF abilities. Specifically, his dragon fire. So far, Luffy hasn't actually had a fight against a strong fire user. The strongest I'd say he ever fought was probably sanji back in WCI, but Its pretty obvious that Sanji's flaming kicks are nothing to the casual mountain-busting destruction beams Kaido can use when he activates his DF.
This is a pretty serious ability and unless Oda invokes plot induced stupidity and has kaido simply forget that he can breathe fire, Luffy will need to have a counter to this. One possible counter could be for him to gain DF awakening, allowing him to upgrade his rubber into some sort of supernatural, fire resistant polymer.
Alternatively, he could develop some sort of G5 form that utilizes the concept of a "water balloon". Essentially, Luffy could absorb water into his skin so that his body can become flame resistant. The heat might still be an issue, but at least Luffy won't burst into flames.
Lastly, he could develop an even more advanced version of CoA barrier where he pulls out so much haki that he is essentially able to cover his entire body in an aura similar to DBZ or nen in HxH. While this would waste haki, it would be effective in allowing Luffy to tank Kaido's extreme AoE fire attacks.
Anyways what do you think? how do you think Luffy could overcome Kaido's frighteningly OP fire capabilities.
