General & Others Luffy/Smoker Alabasta situation during "God Valley Incident"?

During this chapter we learn that Garp and Roger teamed up to defeat the Rox Pirates, something the World Government hid from both the public and the majority of the Marines awarded all the credit solely to Garp. But even with Sengoku giving more information about the events are the Marines still holding back spinning the Story?

When Rox was first mentioned and we learned that Garp's title of "Hero of the Marines" was given to him for beating Rox, I had the theory that we were going to get a situation similar to Alabasta were Garp may have been forced to take the credit by the Marines and World Government to cover up the fact that Pirates were the ones that beat him?

Yes, but Garp actually battled against the heavy hitters of Rocks. While Smoker didn't really clash with any big members of BW.

We got thought panels of Sengoku remembering the incident, so I wouldn't say it's exactly the same. It might've been more akin to Punk Hazard where Luffy and Smoker were working directly in tandem together.

I definitely hope we get more information, possibly even a few chapters of Flashback to actually see for are selves what transpired without biases from either the Marines or Rox (like Big Mom or Kaido).
