I think that Kaido will be KO’d by Luffy in the next few chapters. But it won’t be the end of him
I thin what sets Kaido apart from the other top tiers is his endurance and stamina as I think that amongst the current top tiers he has the highest stamina, where if he fought any other top tier he might not necessarily hit harder than them but he will definitely outlast them in a 1 vs 1 but I truly believe that currently Mihawk and Akainu have the highest AP in the series. And in terms of durability he’s on par with BM. Current Luffy is on par with Kaido combat wise even without using G4 with his Roc style but in a one vs one Kaido would win simply by outlasting him, Luffy chapter 1010 was below Kaido in AP and skill despite unlocking CoC but now they are equal.
The only situation in which Luffy can defeat Kaido is what happened on Onigashima where Kaido fought multiple people without rest while carrying Onigashima at the same time which ate on his stamina little by little, and right now he is at his limits. I think Kaido doesn’t like to use his awakening because he becomes mindless and sacrifices his stamina but in exchange to crazy powerful AP that surpasses anyone and that’s when Luffy will use G4 to put him down
