Controversial Marines have in no way shape or form the moral high ground above ANY pirate crew and I am tired of people acting like they do.

Every single last Emperor is at least honest about what they want for the world, and for their crews. The Marines lie and talk a great big deal about Justice and Honor but really serve first and foremost the World Government and Celestial Dragons. Helping the common man is a secondary aim of the Marines. Kill a king and the WG *might* raise your bounty, kill a Celestial Dragon and who shows up? An Admiral.

And even then a vast majority blindly follow through on Buster Call orders (which are not secret) and ignore the brutality of a Celestial Dragons average Friday. We've seen 0 concern from any Vice Admiral on Egghead about the loss of life and technological progress the BC will cause. If anything, we've seen a few of them take special interest in child murder and securing their child soldiers.

Only SWORD is somewhat clean, and not every SWORD member is because some of them just want more freedom to dispense JUSTICE. Rather than to avoid oppressing the common folk.

The WG just has orderly and defined oppression of the masses vs the anarchy of pirates. It comes packaged neatly in a WG wrapper, rather than a bunch of varied pirate crew names. Hell, Big Mom would have been a slight upgrade even. Yeah islands get pillaged for their food, but if it were just the new heavenly tax- at least the racisms gone!

Marines generally are better than the average pirate, their job is to keep order and protect civilians, while pirates are usually looking to cause chaos, and do harm to civilians, so morally speaking I would side with the marines.

Now if we take deeper look, then no one is on the high ground. As of right now, the revolutionary army is only group, that can make that claim.
