Yuji being goated aside - Maru's CT and this whole storyline are beyond ass.

Legit thoughts: I'm glad Yuji got to shine with the strength we all knew he had, and we got Mahoraga and Dabura action too. Everything else in this manga is pure drivel.

I think the storyline is pretty good for the most part.

It’s a shame Gege decided to make Maru’s Plot Technique so central though, I’ve legit been complaining about it for like 10 chapter.

Even if Yuji is back, the whole power system of JJK seems to be fucked up.
Aliens can create spaceship out of thin air, Maru can do reality warping.
We don't know full extent of Dura's power.

Same old Gege, making antagonists overpowered, letting protagonists struggle endlessly, and then nerfing the villain.

Let's see what Yuji can do.

I agree storyline is ok-ish, but the main problem is plot driven use of CT. Well, it is not new either (hint; eye-patch).

The thing with Maru is that it was fairly obvious that his CT was relatively low output/scale (he needed the CE crystals on the ship in order to move it) so while it was reality manipulation it was limited and probably can’t affect someone else’s body. Gege said in an interview awhile ago that the body itself is like a domain hence why Jogo and Hanami don’t just spawn plants/fire in someone’s body to insta kill them and that clearly applies to Maru.

Now that he’s been given enough CE to impact all humans the undefined nature of his CT feels extremely plotty @NikaInParis

Gege remained consistent in one thing - he can deliver hype moments. Even in this short format.

But the plotyness of Maru and his CT just shows that he carried his sloppy ending-of-JJK writing over to this manga. And amped it up to 11.

Ironically, the roles should probably have been reversed here - let Gege draw and let somebody else write these spin offs.
