IMPORTANT: I WILL NOT COUNT VOTES FROM THOSE WHO DO NOT VOTE FOR EACH FIGHT. ALSO IF I SEE OR NOTICE SOME SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY THAT ENTRY WILL BE DISQUALIFIED.

In this round in this thread we will have 8 character deaths/sacrifces, which means 4 fights.


FIRST FIGHT

Adam from Record of Ragnarok
As probably most of you know Record of Ragnarok is a fighting tournament manga between the gods and humans to decide the fate of humanity

Adam is the second fighter of humanity and he takes on Zeus the god of cosmos after humanity has lost the first fight

During his fight he gives humanity hope and brings their hearts together, he moves them to tears multiple times and make it look like winning is an actual possibility as he whoops Zeus for most of the fight

We get narration from multiple gods that Adam is motivated by hatred and wants revenge on gods but his actual reason for fighting is the most beautiful line in the series "What father need a reason to protect his children?"

This made all of humanity to cry and root and scream for their daddy

During his fight he bleeds from the eyes, ears, mouth, eats planet busting punches, dies and still continues to fight for his children after death

Even if he lost he still pushed and whooped the strongest god there was, gave his children hope and went out like a champion with a smile and his hand raised in the air.


VS

Khun Maschenny Zahard (Data)
My submission is Khun Maschenny Zahard (Data). I'm talking about this little girl:



To help understand why her death is so satisfying, some background context would be needed.

So, she's something called a Princess of Zahard. She received power from the King (Zahard), through a special procedure, and became one of his adopted children.

This is a copy of Maschenny that she left behind in a virtual world after clearing the Hell Train.


In that same virtual world, Maschenny runs into a copy of the younger version of her Father (the copy was also made by Zahard after he cleared the Hell Train, so they were at similar stages in their journey), and literally loses her mind:


Her first comment upon waking up is on just how terrifyingly powerful the King is:


Her reaction? To come up with a plan of engagement to challenge the young King and somehow sneak their comrades past him:


This is wild, because she's the only person that felt that terrifying power, and she's still thinking of proceeding. Imagine someone so powerful that their mere presence literally scares you out of your mind.


The battle commences, and they mount their initial offensives. They all fail miserably with Zahard negging all their attacks without moving.

Maschenny attacks again (solo this time) and Zahard once again negs her attack:



Zahard notices that she attacked under the assumption that she would fail, concluding that she was fully aware of her loss. He asks her why one of his Princesses is choosing to fight him.

Maschenny replies. In that moment when the King bestowed her power on the outside, she marveled at his endless power. Ever since then, she has longed to cross her spear with him, even if just once. However, the circumstances on the outside means that she's destined to never fight him. Which is why even if it's just as data, she'd like to fight the version of him here:

He calls her a fool and then asks her what she thinks after this first exchange they've had.

Maschenny isn't calm โ€” on the contrary, she's terrified out of her mind โ€” but even more than her terror, she's filled with boundless pleasure:


This is fucking metal.


She feels like even buying time against Zahard would be impossible, so she puts her life on the line and literally goes Super Saiyan:

She attacks him, and Zahard casually handles all that she can dish out:



The best she can accomplish is to crack his mask. Still, he pays her a compliment and decides to finish her off with a special skill:



He left her barely alive and concludes that the fight is over. He wants to move on to deal with the rats that escaped:


She stops him. Their battle is not yet over. She's still not yet done enjoying herself:



Zahard tells her that he tried to spare her life because he liked her courage. Why is she still fighting? She already told him, it's for the sake of her pleasure. She's insulted that he tried to spare her life when she had already resolved herself to die in order to face him.

He acknowledges her resolve and bids her to come, he'll properly kill her this time:


He wrecks the shit out of her again:

And Maschenny still gets back up, she prepares another attack:

But Zahard stops her, her body literally cannot keep up with her anymore:

He comments that the Zahard Princesses have bodies that are tens of thousands of times stronger than normal people, but Maschenny fought to a level where even her vastly superhuman body could not take it anymore.

As he walks away, he hopes that she's satisfied since she was able to fulfill the dream she could not fulfill in the outside world. As Maschenny passes away, she dies with a smile:


Whew, this was insanely long. But yeah, I think this sums up perfectly why Data Maschenny had the most satisfying death.

As a diehard fan of hers, I couldn't have hoped for anything different for her.

She passed away exactly as she wanted to, having realised her long cherished dream.


SECOND FIGHT

Kozuki Oden
We all know the story of Oden obviously so I won't repeat it but instead I'll write why I'm voting for him personally. Oden was a complete fool, but his heart was in the right place. He was like a samurai version of Luffy and despite his foolishness, his naivety, he was true to who he was and his beliefs, he was not a manipulative, two faced, cowardly person but quite the opposite. He really stood out to me when he paid respects to that dead man with eating Oden over his funeral pyre, using the flames from his burning remains to heat the oden itself, it was a very profound, spiritual and honourable moment.

He completely messed up in abandoning Wano and thus his family, friends, country and such and letting Kaido and Orochi take complete control over it and lay it all to ruin under their tyranny and greed. He had his reasons to do so of course but he still recognised it was his own fault and he accepted responsibility for his actions, his mistakes and such, which makes him a further contrast and superior man to that cowardly, backstabbing fraud Orochi.

In fact Oden's honour was so great, it impressed even Kaido who killed Higurashi to "avenge" her dirty tactics against Oden when Kaido fought him and Kaido chose to give him a merciful, quick death after Oden completed his own self imposed, hellish challenge during his own execution. Even though he had previously been betrayed by Kaido and especially Orochi, he still pleaded with them and tried to bargain with them to spare the lives of his own beloved Scabbards and the hostages they had too.

And thus during his own execution, he refused to let his own Scabbards join him in it, despite the fact they were meant to and they wanted to. His relentless selfessness and martyrly attitude persisted and ensured he could let anyone else die on his behalf and he won't let anyone else die in vain or be sacrificed for his own sins/mistakes. The reaction of everyone watching, repeating his famous catchphrase and the tears and survivor's guilt of the Scabbards further intensifies how much of an impactful and beloved person Oden was, how charistmatic, influential and ultimately heroic and iconic he was.

Oden was a fool and he died like one too as Orochi would love to say especially BUT he died true to who he was, he never faltered from who he was, much like Luffy, he refused to let the world change him, he refused to let his will be broken to the very end and despite literal years of forced humiliation, he never gave up, all in the vain ambition to save the lives of countless other people.

His final moments were the most horrifying, haunting, tragic, brutal etc I've seen in a series honestly. Not even just in One Piece but anything else I've seen! For a man to dive into burning hot oil and burn himself alive, in a way, bringing hell and its firey punishment upon himself even is nothing short of completely insane and yet inspiring. Oda wrote him as a blatant expy/inspiration of the real life Japanese historic legend Ishikawa Goemon:

I know I rambled on a lot but I felt it was necessary to build up on why Oden's sacrifice and death were impactful. Oden was like the "Japanese Jesus" and sacrificed himself for the "greater good". And now his will lives on to this day 20 years later and he will finally get avengement and justice through the ones who have inherited his will and seek vengeance for him. Imagine if he could see his son now especially! Well both his children even ofc! He would be so immensely proud!

Oden died a hero and true to himself to the very end, how many people do we know did the same, both IRL and in fiction? Long live Oden anyway, he died like a hero, a truly brave man to the end and unlike Kaido and especially Orochi, he deserves to always be remembered and never forgotten!

Julius Novachrono
The man, the myth, the legend

Julius Novachrono, the magic emperor of Clover Kingdom


Julius Novachrono was gifted with incredible power of having time magic and a grimoire with no covers. He often wondered what is his role in the world with such huge amount of power. He joined Magic Knights and worked his way up, he decided to become the Wizard King and protect the people with his power rather than use it to subjugate them.

For years he worked on improving lives of everyone, he pushed rest of Magic Knights to work their hardest. His inspiration even moved someone like Yami to become better.

As a whole Julius was the peak of humanity when it came to magic. Culmination of his power was showed in the fight versus Patri. After taking over the body of Vengeance, friend of Julius, Patri entered a duel with Julius. Julius not wanting to hurt Vengeance held back entire fight and yet he dominated Patri. Patri with even having Light Magic that counters Time Magic couldn't keep up with Julius, saying so during the fight.

As a last ditch effort Patri decided to kill every citizen of Clover Kingdom in order to bait Julius to protect them with all his might.

Julius casted a COUNTRY SIZED SPELL and protected every single citizen that was attacked. But just as Patri planned, this exposed Julius and his weakness which Patri exploited to mortally wound Julius.

On his deathbed, happy he managed to fulfil his duty as a Wizard King he entrusted his duty to Yami to carry it on. His actions inspired other magic knights to work together in order to tackle this threat.

Sacrifice of Julius is one of the highest moments in Black Clover and IMO the Shounen genre as a whole. Everything worked, everything made sense, everything fell in its place.


THIRD FIGHT

Commodus from Gladiator
Commodus was the son of the Roman Emperor Marcus Aurelius. He was the brother of Princess Lucilla, and uncle of Lucius. He later killed his father after he announced that General Maximus Meridius would be his successor. He took the throne as regent, but was killed by Maximus in the Colosseum.

He was portrayed by Joaquin Phoenix in the 2000 film Gladiator.



Commodus was a cowardly prince of Rome, and he arrived to meet the emperor shortly after the Battle against the Barbarians. He was happy that he missed the battle and the war, and embraced Maximus as a brother. However, his secret jealousy of Maximus led to a huge fight. He introduced Maximus to senators Falco and Gaius, who were loyal friends to the prince. He warned Maximus that when he got home, and when he was emperor, he might call him back to duty.

Later on, he visited his father and announced he was ready to serve Rome. However, the emperor announced to him that Maximus would be emperor instead of him. Enraged by this, the prince suffocated his father to death and was later crowned as the Emperor of Rome (Caesar).

Commodus was crowned Emperor of Rome, but had an uneasy approach to the post. He ignored the fact given to him by Gracchus that the Greek Quarter of the Roman Empire was infected by plague. Commodus was angry at all the lists of demands given to him by the senators, but he wanted the people to love him because he was never loved. He seemed to fall in love with Lucilla, though his sister, and took her as his consort empress.

A whimpering, simpering Caesar, Commodus sees himself as a god, but really, he's just a pervy prince who murdered his own dad. And once he ascends to the throne, he proceeds to make life miserable for everybody. He wants to sleep with his sister so he threatens to kill her son if she won't share his bed. The messed-up stuff he does to Maximus is horrible. He butchers the guy's family, tries to feed him to tigers, and then literally stabs him in the back before tossing him into the Colosseum.

Fortunately, Commodus' own cockiness is what brings him down. He challenges Maximus to a duel in front of the Roman mob, thinking the wounded gladiator will quickly succumb to his wound. But Maximus is a man who really wants his revenge, and he makes short work of the sleazy Caesar. In fact, he kills Commodus with his own dagger, jabbing the knife into the emperor's throat.

Erwin Smith and the Survey Corps
Erwin Smith and the survey corps death was an amazing moment.

They were cornered by the warriors and especially the Beast Titan. They couldn't retreat and had to distract him for some time. So Erwin smith the chief of the corps, gave his final order : an amazing final charge against The Beast and to meet death, while Levi Ackerman sneaked his way from the side to kill him.

He managed to convince the youngs recruits to sacrifice themselves for the future of Paradise. All those youngs guys went straight into hell's mouth, they cried, their legs shook but they went nonetheless.

Erwin Smith had a dream, and he was so close to it, he was literally ten meters away from the thing he chased all his life. Yet he decided to sacrifice his own dream, everything he ever fought for, for the sake of the mission and to lead the rest of the corps into death. Without him he knew that no one would have had the courage to charge against the Beast titan. So he jumped on his horse and yelled from the bottom of his lugs : RAGEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE !!

FOURTH FIGHT

Sanji
Sanji is extremely kind, having a strong sense of generosity and compassion ever since he was a child, as is exemplified by his feeding food to a rat and looking after a turtle though he was brutally bullied by his brothers and punished by his father for doing so.
Sanji's experiences with his family hardened him up greatly as was shown when he pulled a knife out on his father and when he nearly killed Zeff for "food".

The reason why Sanji's sacrifice is my favorite and most satisfying is that -

Sanji went back to the place where he was traumatized and he hated the most since he was a child, The place where he wasn't treated like a family but a worthless loser and he still accepted the proposal of his marriage with pudding as he knew that Big Mom is no joke and he can't just disagree with the proposal and go free.

Because of this reason, he decided to leave the crew without explaining anything at all but said that he will return soon so that they don't come looking for him and keep moving forward in their journey, which shows that he doesn't want their journey to be disturbed because of his problems

Sanji didn't want the crew to be any part of his mess as he thought that it is his problem and that he will have to solve it by himself. Being in the crew for a long but he still wasn't that person who would ask for help from his friends as he doesn't want to give discomfort or problems to others.

The thing about this sacrifice is that Sanji had the chance to escape when Luffy came but Sanji didn't accept the offer rather had a fight and beaten Luffy very badly which is something he ofc didn't want to do but he had to do that so he could make them go away and not try to save him because Sanji knew about how strong a yonko can be so he didn't want to put Luffy and Nami or others in danger

Later he even had a deal with big mom of his marriage and in return safety of his friends.
Sanji was here not only getting married for his whole life but was leaving his other family that is his crew and with that, he was leaving his passion and dream of finding the ALL BLUE

I would like to end this with a line that Brook said regarding Sanji-
โ€œThe thing about Sanji is he's very kindhearted. So I knew that he would not return to us. No matter what trap it is you've set up for him!! His kindness knows no bounds!! Once he's made up his mind to sacrifice himself for someone, he will not change his ways!!!โ€

Kawakami Bansai from Gintama
Personal stakes are what make a story good, right? This character not only died manipulating an army of dead soldiers with his strings, but he died for another person. What makes it so satisfying is that itโ€™s not only one of the coolest moments in manga, but also a really emotional moment.

This death encapsulates the themes of the series itโ€™s in, which is Gintama. Itโ€™s not about how you die, itโ€™s about how you live. The reason Bansai was fighting in this war (the final arc in Gintama) wasnโ€™t to save the world and be a hero, he was fighting to live with his friends.

And so he goes down using his full fighting capabilities, with him strapping bombs to his body at the end and taking down the enemy army with him. Not before pulling some crazy feats like using his strings to make his opponents kill each other, the aforementioned manipulation of the dead enemy soldiers, and using his swordsmanship to cut down dozens of soldiers. Allowing his allies to achieve victory in that war.
