If both are movie/show only versions, that spear of ice which was moving fast enough to pierce a dragon hide on its neck should have enough kinetic energy behind it to pierce through more basic things but the book apparently has some insane feats that somehow contradict what's shown only in the movies.

The Balrog and Gandalf fell like an insane depth, while Gaedalf actually stabbed it and used it to break his fall. Yet the Balrog was fine and still needed Gandalf to fight and defeat it.

It's durability is far far better than got show dragons that get pierced by ballista bolts and icicles.

Somehow both Gandalf and Balrog end up on the top of some castle tower on a mountain after falling from a bridge and landing into a large lake in the cave inside god knows where.
Gandalf channeling the power of lightning to strike down a balrog by striking its heart (possibly) may be magic above anything in GoT's paygrade. This happens near the end of the vid I posted.

The Balrog fought an unrestricted Gandalf for 7 days from the lowest dungeon to the highest tower. Durin’s Bane likewise broke Gandalf’s spells in Moria.

the greatest heroes of the 1st age elves could only stalemate Balrogs and died alongside them.

Not entirely relevant here but GRRM has said that Nazgûl > The Others and The Others are on average > The Walkers from the tv show.

The night king is probably closer to the Witch King than he is to any Balrog.
