Character Discussion Nika reveal and critical analysis of the tragedy of Who's Who.

#1
So I've done some rereading and I've discovered the identity of Nika; it's been right under our noses the entire time.

The reveal is deeply connected with the character of Who's Who and gives some serious depth to his character. The setup of his character started over 600 chapters ago with his introduction during Robin's flashback of Ohara. From his fight with Jinbe we discovered that he was previously a CP9 agent who was locked away for losing the Gomu Gomu no mi. From his physical characteristics we can most likely deduce that he was this guy from Robin's flashback.

From the events of the Ohara incident and his involvement in the buster call of innocent civilians we see that he was written to be an immoral character. He serves the morally corrupt world government which believes in putting on airs and primarily worries about self preservation. This characteristic of self preservation is paralleled during his imprisonment after losing the Gomu Gomu no mi. Despite not believing in the fairytale of the prison guard about the Sun God Nika he eventually caved and started praying to this supposed savior of prisoners and slaves. And after they got rid of the guard who divulged the legend of Nika to him he only worried about making his escape. He was clearly written to be a despicable and selfish character with no redeemable qualities.

He further digs himself into a hole and shows that he has a deep-seated hatred for fishmen. He likens the entire history of fishmen to slavery and openly mocks Jinbe over it.

The resolution of his fight with Jinbe will finally be the payoff to this 600+ chapter setup with his comeuppance in the form of a tragic irony. To this day even after escaping from the world government for years he's still obsessed with the legend of Nika. It quite clearly had an impact on his mental health and he still worships him to this day.

The end of Jinbe's fight with him will come with Jinbe revealing the identity of Nika, because in fact Jinbe does know who this legend is...

We the readers know the true identity of Nika but Who's Who does not. Can you imagine the tragic irony of Who's Who's idol being a mermaid? The super racist asshole who hates all fishmen.

:crazwhat:

Fucking Goda did it again.

Oh I'm sorry. I actually don't follow the spoiler discussion thread too much. My bad. I was just bored from lack of new spoiler info. Guess I'll delete thread as soon as I figure out how.

Edit: no clue how to delete thread...

@Pantheos I see you're on. Can you delete this thread? Apparently my troll failed and it was already discussed in the spoiler thread a long time ago. :josad:

Sorry for wasting both of our time.
