General & Others Oda retconned Shanks fleet into being notoriously weak just to shit further on Kid

It’s not to shit on Kid, it’s to wank Shanks as this righteous hero who defends every weakling in the New World.
Oda must have written an initial draft of how Shanks wipes Kid and realized how much of a dick Shanks looked. So instead of keeping Shanks as a morally gray character he went out of his way to make him looks as good as possible.

I actually don't think Shanks will save the Kidd Pirates. He's shown to be good natured but that goes out the window when you attack people that he cares about. Chapter one had Lucky Roo dome that bandit and Shanks didnt even give a little bit of a fuck. Kidd was literally ripping Shanks' fodder buddies in half in his future sight.
I don't think he's gonna be cool with them.
