This could've easily been a 9 or even a 10 but Oda fumbled as usual.
Asside from the most silly reason for the whole event taking place to begin with
Oda failed to deliver with the GV flashback.
All he needed to do was to dedicate a few more chapters to the fights, but no, as usual, gags and characters running around was more important, thus leaving us with more questions and even more confused than before.
The flashback should've cemented the standing of certain characters like Roger, Garp, Whitebeard, Big Mom, Kaido, Rayleigh, Gaban and even Xebec, instead thanks to Oda ducking out, Rogers portrayal is even more in question, Shikki, Gaban and Rayleigh come of as useless bums, Whitebeards IQ dropped by at least 30 points, Big Mom was yet again turned into a hype tool and even Xebec, who went from the undoubtly strongest to someone who is argued to be the first Yonko level obstacle Garp and Roger had to overcome in their career, while already being in their 40s
If one flashback was justified to be action focused and to receive full fleshed out fights, it's the GV one.
