That's exactly what happened. R/OnePiece are "ironically" narrow minded as fuck, love their hivemind/mob mentality and thus ganging up on "blasphemers/dissents/heretics" who dare speak out against the cult and Goda.

PirateFolk is the OP version of TitanFolk and FreeFolk which were setup after those series really upset and angered their Fanbases.
As you said, a free space for people to be open critical of OP and not get mercilessly harasses and ridiculed by such "understanding, tolerant and open minded" OP stans.

I've been browsing there a lot lately and even though they only hit 3k subs now and were on 1. Something thousand subs for a long time at least, the Memepiece and OP main subs have made top page posts trying to downplay and ridicule them and act like "they aren't threatened by them".
Bearing in mind, the main OP sub and memepiece even have so many subs, they completely dwarf the PirateFolk one and its almost like a drop in the ocean to them, especially compared to the main sub.
