Np man....oh damn, so you are installing windows from a USB stick or something?
I asked GPT again and got this:
It sounds like you’re setting up Windows on a brand-new laptop, and everything works except for pressing "Next." That's frustrating! Here are a few more things to try:
1. Check for a Touchscreen Issue:
- If your laptop has a touchscreen, try tapping "Next" on the screen instead of using the mouse or trackpad.
2. Try External Mouse:
- Plug in an external USB mouse and see if the "Next" button responds to that instead of the laptop’s trackpad.
3. Keyboard Shortcut for "Next":
- Sometimes, using the Tab key to navigate and Enter to select works when the mouse doesn’t. Try tabbing over to the "Next" button and pressing Enter.
4. Disable Touchpad Gestures (if relevant):
- If you’re using the touchpad, gestures or drivers may interfere. Try disabling advanced touchpad features (if you can access settings) or use an external mouse.
5. BIOS Update or Settings Issue:
- Since this is a new laptop, check if there’s any option in the BIOS that’s related to input devices, particularly touchpad or USB configurations. You can access the BIOS by pressing a key like F2, Delete, or Esc during startup.
6. Restart the Setup Process:
- Power off the laptop, turn it back on, and restart the Windows installation process. If there was a software glitch, rebooting might fix it.
If none of these steps work, it could be an issue with the laptop’s hardware or pre-installed software. In that case, reaching out to the laptop manufacturer’s support might be the best next step.
I barely know anything about laptops so I can't help, so hopefully someone more technical can help? I think a few of the staff members here are quite technical, Worst might be too as he does web/graphic design (he designed the themes for here and such) but aside from that idk, I know Pot is also tecchy but not sure how much he knows about actual Windows technical and hardware stuff.
I wish I could help more, but worst case scenario, you may have to find someone who is tech expert IRL or go to a PC shop?
