WG found out Shanks took the "rubber rubber" fruit to Foosha. Kuma was sent to retrive it by any means necessary. Kuma saw Luffy fight with his rubber body and found out he ate the fruit. As he moved to finish him, he saw Luffy do the Nika pose in the sun while trying to run away from the tiger. Kuma stopped and went away crying( first emotion shown after being a cyborg).
