You have to be utterly disingenuous to believe marineford, whose tower takes up one third of the entire island and is a moon crescent shape is as large as Onigashima. We know from the jaw up there are 5 equally sized floors. Each capable of handling Hachan lifting up another numbers. And two basements. That means its hundreds of meters tall LOL
Onigashima is significantly larger than MF. Aside of agendas, there is no reason to downplay the size of Onigashima, especially since most top tier feats are not merely depending on Marineford in the same arc either way. Those top tiers showed dozens of times that their attacks could easily engulf MF but it was merely being the battlefield of the largest war up to date in OP.
There are several calcs of Onigashima being at least 10km, MF can be lucky to reach 3km. You also have good scaling from Numbers -> Door -> Mountain on top of the skull which is significantly smaller than the mountain range surrounding the skull.

Calcs are bullshit and inconsistent.
There are several calcs which debunk the one from when the alliance arrives there.
What's consistent though is that the Island is fully crowded with 35k people with no room to breath and is the smallest landmass in all of Wano and was gonna be used to crush a mere castle

I kinda expected this kind of argument. Measuring islands based on the visible characters is not a good and valid idea. With this logic, you can downplay every single island. You can start with Pica's golem and Noah.

Number -> Door -> Mountain is not bullshit tho. They perfectly fit for the door and the numbers are as large as Oars. And we have several shots of the smaller mountains compared to the outer ones, another method is scaling the smaller mountains to the skull's eye. Or the horn. Even without calcs, you can clearly see one of these mountains dwarfing one number a few times.
Where was it confirmed that the 35k people had no room to breath? Franky had good space to send Sasaki flying up to the air with his attacks. And several numbers could also effortlessly being stored into a floor as well.

Vlad does have a point though. With 35K Onigashima was nearly about to explode with how stacked it looked.
Iirc 100K Marine soldiers were standing on the Plaza alone and later came on like 43 allied pirate captains with the city behind MF remaining untouched.

Compared to Wano, Onigashima is small - that's correct. But MF would be even smaller. It's just that Wano is a rather large country itself, probably the only country more comparable to Alabasta.
When I see how they all had a full-scale war in the floors, when numbers could easily participate into it too, I don't see how Onigashima reached its limits at storing 35k people.
As I said, there are some valid reasons to put Onigashima far higher than MF in size. I named a few above.
Then there is not even a point to start discussions about whether MF is smaller or larger than Onigashima if we can't scale anything in the first place.
