I dislike the lack of effort that's put into it.
Everything becomes formless, flows all around the screen, colors flash for no reason, all to hide the lack of detail and proper animation.

Characters also become deformed and it's all praised as some high art. Looks like somebody drew them from memory after 10 years of not seeing the og version.


And disclaimer: this is for all fights that use that type of animation

Are you kidding?That shit was atrocious!Pain's face look deformed at some point.I will never forget some fight sequences that looked straight out of a kids cartoon.They did an awful job animating that fight.

Only Naruto fight I can give points to is.

- Rock Lee vs Gaara
- rocklee vs Bone guy
- Kakashi vs kakazu (hand to hand combat)
- Kakashi vs Obito
- Minato vs Obito

Sasuke vs Itachi was fucked by Orochimaru in the end.
Sasuke unable to keep up with Sick Itachi , so many things I hated. Itachi didn't even go all out.

Jiraya vs Pain was good , but how much did we get of pain at that time. He's real skillset was showcased in Naruto vs Sasuke.

Naruto animation was mostly shit, especially at the final war but this one? Yes, it had a very weird style but I really liked it though. It was really funny seeing how 4 Tails Kurama hit Pain on the ground like a nail lmao. They were really creative back then.

That's why I also don't mind the goofiness of Gear 5.

Sasuke vs Itachi was my favourite fight.The build up to it since the first chapters,the fight choreography,Itachi hyped,Kirin,Susanoo,Itachi dying and the plot twist that followed.That was peak Naruto for me.

The gif above , is actually lazy animation. They could have done better. Regardless.
And at that time , yes animation was ofc good.
I mean whatelse did we have at that time ? Fate was around right? 🤔
