Perospero is probably the second most important member of the Big Mom Pirates only after Katakuri.
During the Tea Party when Big Mom couldn't focus on anything after Brook broke the picture of Mother Carmel, Perospero quickly restrained the Vinsmokes and had his siblings held them at gunpoint.
When Big Mom started to go on a rampage at WCI, most of the BMP were panicking and were confused on what to do. However Perospero quickly acted and told Big Mom that the SHs had the wedding cake, this not only led Big Mom to go after the SHs but it also saved WCI from being destroyed and also allowed Perospero and the other BMP to make a plan on stopping a rampaging Big Mom.
Out of all the siblings that joined Katakuri on the Sunny it ended up being Perospero, not Smoothie or even Daifuku and Oven but it was Perospero that joined him on the Sunny.
Before the SHs could escape Perospero restrained the Sunny with candy and even when they did escape, Perospero created a candy sea slug and helped Big Mom chase after them.
Despite not being a Sweet General, Perospero was also seen giving orders to Smoothie.
Throughout the WCI arc Perospero had more focus than both Cracker and Smoothie who are Sweet Generals, and his portrayal and focus is even way above the other veterans. Daifuku and Oven both have a bounty of 300 million meanwhile Perospero who is also a veteran like them has a bounty of 700 million, and his bounty is even higher than the former Sweet General Snack who has a bounty of 600 million.
As for his powers and abilities, he is a master at using his devil fruit ability such as when he created a candy escalator in a matter of seconds.
He also created an exact replica of Caesar's laboratory from Punk Hazard out of candy, and in his fight against both Brook and Chopper he easily defeated them and then later on easily defeated Pedro.
He also survived Pedro's explosion by quickly making a candy armor and despite being badly injured and losing one of his arm, he still had enough strength in him to go after the SHs.
When it comes to his devil fruit, his candy is so powerful and hard that the Vinsmokes and even Bege's Big Father couldn't move when they were restrained by his candy and even Luffy's gear 3 punch couldn't break it.
Finally in chapter 983 we see Perospero riding his candy on the seas of Wano approaching Onigashima.
