François will definitely be remembered as the first non-European Pope (but "white" I guess, now that I think about it).

He was the best Pope that I have known, amen. (I had more girls than popes in my life, which could explain why)

Rest in peace and please GOD send him to heaven.

Who is gonna be the next Pope ?

Will you be satisfied with the results ? What kind of background would you think is needed to be elected ?

As a catholic and even for non-catholic : what do you think the Church's priority should be nowadays ?

Do you think the next Pope should be Japanese ? Or Filipino ? Or FRENCH ?

Am I the only one that doesn't give a singular fuck about this
Most people on the forum don't care, but they were intelligent enough not to feel the need to randomly boast about it in the dedicated thread.
The next Pope should be European and the Catholic church should stay in Europe. The degree to which the Church is infiltrating communities worldwide for political gain is unholy.
How are things going in Germanistan?

Literally Peter.

Cope and seethe heretic.
Hey man I believe the Bible only, I'm not supporting an organization who killed countless people including christians, that twists the Bible, promotes idolatry, claims infallible authority, leads people astray, lies about biblicsl doctrines, and wastes money

1 Corinthians 3:9

“For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building.”

1 Corinthians 3:16 - 3:18

16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.

18 Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise.

By the way in the Bible the church is the entire groups of believers, not an organization, the catholic church has nothing to do with the actual church except to hate them and lie, in the Bible a believer is God's building, God's temple, not an actual building

The Sacred Tradition is legitimized in the Bible, it alao says that not everything was written down. Apart from being a community, the Church already had a structure back then and it is obvious. The infallible authority of the papacy is very limited, infact it is used very rarely. You are so free of hate that you felt the need to come and hate on a thread about Catholicism, you better shut up and go educate yourself instead of spewing more nonsense.

I mention the infallible authority mostly because of the claim that you need that organization to tell you what the Bible says, instead of reading it

The Bible says this about what was not written

John 21:25

“And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen.”

Doesn't support anything catholic, just says not everything he did was written down.

The Bible says this about tradition

2 Thessalonians 2:15 - Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle.

Colossians 2:8 - Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

Matthew 15:3 - But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?

https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Bible-Verses-About-Traditions/

The catholic tradition is bunk, not found in the Bible, the tradition you are to hold to is that taught by word or by the epistle, so by their conversations or by what is written in the Bible, look at where the tradition originates from, and try to find it in the Bible, you will only find the Bible commands against catholic practices

And I do hate catholic practices and the catholic church but I don't think I have expressed hatred towards individual catholics or the pope.

Romans 10:9 - 10:10

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

1 John 5:1

“Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.”

1 John 5:12 - 5:13

12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.

13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

I just mentioned what the Bible does, if he obeyed Romans 10:9-10 then he is in heaven.

The fact that not everything was written down doesn't mean that it lacked importance. 2 Thessalonians also tells us to hold the tradition that were taught either by word or letter, so that means that not only written text matters as you people say. Honestly you seem like a religious version of Logiko, spamming random walls of text and acting all morally superior when you clearly aren't. You came here to badmouth the deceased pope and imply that he's burning in hell.

I disagree with catholic tradition and I am way worse of a sinner than everyone here, but I ask you please just follow the Bible, and have that as your absolute authority, if you want to, take what someone else says as a second opinion that gets invalidated if the Bible contradicts it

Catholics don't take the Bible lightly or put it below the Sacred Tradition, infact the Scriptures are part of it. These two sources also have to be in agreement.
It can also be argued that Luther didn't like applying his principle about freedom of interpretation to others as much as he like applying it to himself. When other protestant confessions had a different interpretation, they were called ignorant or fanatics.

Well, I don't care about the reformation or Luther's ideas for teaching, I'm like proto-protestant, and didn't know what protestant was when I held to the Bible and believed, only the Bible is the authority for teaching, I don't care about anything else, only to compare people's teachings to it
