Magellan and Shiryuu were said to be equals by Invankov. She said Shiryuu was more dangerous/deadly than Magellan. Keep in mind that Shiryuu is without a DF, yet was deadlier and as strong as Magellan. It is said when they worked together is what gave Impel down its reputation.

Now I know people say Magellan is only admiral tier in Impel Down because of the constrained space, which is somewhat true, but ultimately false. Reason being is Magellan is able to spread his poison like a logia awakening. Meaning although Impel Down's restriction was an advantage for him, even if he were out in the open he could still be just as deadly.

Besides, Magellan one-shotted the entire BB crew.

This is the Blackbeard who is stronger than the Blackbeard who scarred Shanks and the Blackbeard who could go to marineford and fight admiral tier opponents. Tanking a Fleet admiral and Yonko attack. Another reason Magellan is no doubt strong as an admiral is because he is in charge of lvl6. People like ace, jinbe, crocodile and more vicious and powerful criminals. If Magellan was YC lvl it would make no sense for him to control lvl 6 because people his tier would be able to overthrow him. However we know Magellan is above YC tier because he had Jinbe, a yc2 character running from him along with other formidable characters.

If Magellan can do this? What can Shiryu do? Someone who was as strong as magellan pre-ts without a df, and more deadlier/dangerous.

But the fact is even if you go with the argument he is only admiral lvl because of the restriction and his df, you cannot apply that to Shiryu. Because Shiryu was as strong as magellan and even more deadlier than a man who can one-shot kill his opponents df. Shiryu has no DF which means his sword skills made him that dangerous.

Magellan was able to one-shot the Blackbeard Pirates. Thus, Shiryu is stronger than BB at that time.

When Blackbeard meets Shiryu for the first-time, despite being with his crew, he realizes of dangeorus Shiryu is. Speaking to the strength of Shiryu.

So if Shiryu is admiral lvl pre-ts, and Blackbeard is now "Yonko" lvl. Shiryu and Blackbeard should be comparable, especially because Shiryu now has a DF.


Oda introduced Shiryu as a powerful, scary and deadly character with no gags. Who do you think is stronger between the two? Are they equal, are the comparable with one edging out over the other?

I think they are comparable with BB being just a 0.37% stronger than Shiryu.

But what can I say? This is expected. Especially because of the similarities between the SH's and BB Pirates. The Swordsman are almost always stronger or equal to their Captain!!!:shame:

Then proceeds to ignore that Shiryu is getting pinned down by the shockwave. Might as well say Van Augur, Pizarro, Doc Q, and Devon tanking Sengoku's attack.

Impel Down just has to have a great network. They have kairoseki which mostly reduces their powers.

Blackbeard should be above Shyriu by logic.But i think Pre-skip Shyriu might be stronger than pre-yami Teach.But with yami+gura,Shiryu is nowhere near Teach in power level.

Shiryu was equal to someone that negged half of a potential Yonkou crew, that had multiple YC2 level characters running for their lives including Crocodile that we now know is worth 1.9B berries and is arguably stronger than any YC1, if this isn't a top tier than this is how far apart YC1 are from other commanders. No one can counter this.

Pre timeskip Shiryu has to be undeniably stronger than Teach. After timeskip they may be equals but I still give the edge to Shiryu.

Shiryu was more dangerous because he was vicious, had no sense of law and didn't spend most of the day on the toilet.

In reality Shiryu himself was scared of Magellan, which makes total sense because unless you had a way to counter his poison it was risky as hell to even defeat him, let alone fight him, as you could end up deadly poisoned anyways —which is why Magellan "one-shotted the entire BB crew" is a dumb, simplistic way to describe how he surprised them with something that ignored power levels.

Using Magellan for power scaling is as stupid as it gets. He is walking poison, you can't "low top tier", "YC1+", whatever that.
