Will Kaido Defeat the Scabbards?

So I’ll make this nice and quick.

I predict that Kaido will not defeat the Scabbards, and rather that they will play the role that the Straw Hats played during the Oars fight. With them fighting and wounding Kaido until Luffy ultimately comes and finishes the fight himself, but Kaido will not outright defeat them. Or he won’t defeat all of them, maybe he’ll knock a couple of them out or something lol.

Let’s go over some reasons people think that Kaido will defeat the scabbards and explain why they are wrong:

“Kaido will defeat they scabbards because it will hype him for Luffy’s win”

-As if Kaido is not already the most hyped character right now? 95% of the fan base is already convinced that he is the strongest character. What purpose would further hyping him against the scabbards serve? It would be redundant to have him defeat characters that everyone thinks he is stronger than anyway.

“The Scabbards are saying that they are going to die, that means Kaido will defeat them soon”

-This would be far from the first time Oda stacked the odds against a group of main characters and had them come out on top lol. The scabbards are meant to represent the will of Japan itself, it is highly unlikely that Oda will have them lose to Kaido, in addition to the reasons above.”

These are the only two reasons I can think of off the top of my head that people claim lol. If I can think of more I’ll add them here.

Turns out the old hag is alive and was mr 2 all along and takes tsuru hostage distracting kinemon saving kaido once again.

Nice thread. I was just about to reply on your other comment, great timing.

Well, I pretty much think that Kaido will defeat the scabbards for the reason u already mentioned, to further hype him up, but also from a story standpoint that it further raises the tension when the scabbards are beaten down just before Luffy comes in to save the day.

readers had Akainu high diffing Aokiji and Kizaru due to his performance in MF compared to Aokiji's and Kizaru . and later Oda still hyped Akainu by defeating Ao

i still feel like Kaido will defeat the Scabbards . all this stalling inside the dome
( Law Kid Killer vs Beasts Pirate fodders etc.... ) is done so that when Luffy Law Kid arrive on the rooftop , the Scabbards are already lying on the ground , creating more tension and making Luffy Kid Law look like the underdogs even more

The problem with this is that it disregards the fact that the Scabbards are meant to be the ones who finish Oden’s plot line-the plot line of saving Wano from Kaido. Having Kaido defeat them would send the message that Oden’s will was forever doomed to fail (at least until outside intervention defeats Kaido for them), and it’s highly unlikely Oda intended to send this message through this storyline. Oden’s Will was inherited through the scabbards and I can almost guarantee they will not fail.

He's obviously very scared of them and Kinemon alone is giving him a run for his money.
So it might be a possibility.

I think he will defeat a few of them but not knock them out for the entire raid, I still believe some of them are going to have a one on one with other characters, like raizou vs Long head guy.

Also he needs to stop being a stupid motherfucking clown and drop that useless dragon form that even fodders can defeat.

If he stays in this form like a moron, then as soon as zoro arrives on that roof, he can consider himself a goner, because zoro will cut that head clean off with a non named one sword slash.
