General & Others Rank the Akatsuki duos based on their chemistry

2. Itachi and Kisame
3. Sasori and Deidara (might be higher if we got to see more of it)
4. Black and White Zetsu
5. Pain and Konan (they’ve got a good shared backstory, but their chemistry is the worst because it’s just Konan being Nagato’s secretary basically)

Kakuzu & Hidan play off each other well, their banter is pretty organic and they're funny at times. Not to mention they have actual strategies together. Their entire screen time save 4 chapters is them together, being ornery fucks to each other. And it's peak Akatsuki in terms of interactions.

Itachi & Kisame are very interesting parallels or opposites, but their on-screen dynamic is much more toned down. Both characters don't have explosive personalities and they're the type to analyze situations before jumping into them. I like Kisame's efforts to comfort Itachi and the general respect Kisame grows to have for Itachi, while always keeping a knowing edge in his commentary (such as over using his eyes in Part 1 or teasing Itachi over Sasuke's death). Unfortunately, Itachi doesn't reciprocate on page enough. Otherwise this would be the top 1.

Deidara and Tobi feels like an extreme version of Kakuzu and Hidan. It's pretty funny, I dig it.

Sasori & Deidara is pretty dull. Their art shtick is their only interesting dynamic.

Pein literally tells Konan "Silence!!!" and she shuts up. Their adult chemistry is pretty boring and under explored. Which is a shame, these two should be the most solid pair.
