Doflamingo and the Gorosei clearly didn’t know that Aokiji is the 10th (if that really is the case) since they were saying that they had only heard rumors about Aokiji affiliating with BB. Gatz is the one who revealed BB has 10 YCs, so Aokiji can’t be one of those 10 unless Gatz knows better than Doffy and the Gorosei. Wanted to make this thread since I’m seeing a resurgence of people saying Aokiji is the 10th.

I don't see how it can be impossible. Gatz and the world might have known Teach has 10 Titanic Captains but without necessarily knowing who is the 10th one (given Kuzan is a pretty recent addition in the crew). Same for the Gorosei and Doffy. So it's possible Kuzan became one not so long before the Punk hazard/Dressrosa arcs.
So what's the process here? Blackbeard informs the world that he has 10 other ships directly under his crew's command and when asked for proof of this supposed tenth captain he just goes "trust me bro"?

I just don’t think Oda cares, and I don’t think there is a mysterious tenth anymore. It’s not like Oda to not try and hype something like that, and there’s been zero actual buildup for any tenth member other than Kuzan. No silhouettes, no “I can’t believe that guy joined Blackbeard”, nada.
The excuse will be something along the lines of Blackbeard did something, there was ten flagships there, it was rumoured that Kuzan was seen there as a leader but it wasn’t confirmed until later.

Yeah, but Sabo is a publicly known person. This is assuming as confirmed that there's a tenth captain under Blackbeard in spite of no person being reported as such (unlike, again, Sabo).
