Character Discussion Robin in the post timeskip

#1
Robin in the pre timeskip is a character that was very appreciated by many fans and that also was one of the main focuses of what many regard to be the greatest piece of storytelling in One Piece until now, Water 7/Enies Lobby. But the intrigue with her started much earlier, from the woman who was supposedly with Crocodile.

In the post timeskip, she was very much relegated in the background, despite the hundreds and hundreds of chapters that have already been written, though this situation doesn't apply to her only. Yes, we know that she has a dream and that she is essential for the poneglyphs but things really feel lacking.

How do you think Oda should have handled the character in the post timeskip? What choices would you have personally made?

@RayanOO @MarineHQ62 @Fleet Admiral Lee Hung @Doggo @NotTommy @BlackLegFring @Finalbeta @Just a member @Garp the Fist @Admiral Mou Bu @Extravlad @Red Admiral @silverfire @LANJI CUCKSMOKE @Light D Lamperouge @Natalija @Bogard @TheAncientCenturion @Gol D. Roger @Van @comrade @KiriNigiri etc.

Poorly, Post Time Skip Robin is literally irrelevant. Oda and his editors don't give a damn about her. You can barely call her a character at this point, she's just there.

Just give her screen time lol. Have her fight someone in Dressrosa, focus on her goal, etc.

Well, I mean she did fought Diamante and Hakuba in Dressrosa.

She shouldn't have lost that mischievous and dangerous side. Now she's more of a "yes" woman, which is boring.

Mostly she isn't taken as seriously as the guys, her biggest contribution post time skip was... Letting Luffy climb up to Doffy on Dressrosa? While she has a convenient df for fighting and can easily grab an enemy by the balls :suresure:

Though it's not just a her problem, there's simply no space in the plot for each Straw Hat to still have their huge personalities, it's mostly crammed now.

Robin pre TS Was a great character Since her introduction in Baroque Works she had a good personality and a great plot with the void century and the most sad past in one piece in terms of strenght she was near the M3
Post TS she preserves her personality wich is very good but the problem is that she is on the background most of the time, and oda had using her to read the poneglyphs wich is her job yeah but when was the last time we saw her in a fight.she has been relegated to be under Franky and equal to Brook when pre TS she was near to M3

I think she turned too gentle, she is so different from her Alabasta version they look like different people. But I guess it's a process which was bound to happen.

I wish Oda gave her more meaning besides her own job to find and read the Pones, luckly her concurrent fight is now something. I hope her haki blossoms like her devil fruit delighted us.

Every SH had its perk and personality pre tike skip but now with an heavy focus ob Luffy on one side and a truck load of secondary characters each arc the one to pay in space have been the other SH. The gag between the crew are almost non existent, Robin indeed seems almost another character, she basically did nothing relevant since the timeskip, Sanji got "his year" but honestly I don't get how the result of it was him using a RS his hated father made for him while he shouldn't even have shown everything he has learn in the timeskip. Also used multiple times as an hypetool with his most serious foght until Queen being Wadatsumi shared with Jinbe. Zoro shined a bit only with Pica and now with Kaido and BM, Zoro too has been sidelined a lot even if he stays the 2nd SH for importance. And pretty much the same conplaints for the others..

About Robin, about the whole post timeskip to be honest, I would have liked to see something more the pre time skip, short arcs (at least compared to Wano, WCI or Dressrosa) centred on the SH, less secondary characters but with more focus. About Robin there were a lot of possibilities: she discovers the location of an ancient weapon on a poneglyph and you have an arc on it where Oda can display some infos on the void century, there is not even the need to show the weapon. Some sparkles forsome interesting Robin action could be neet somebody who knew her mother, return to Ohara, have a battle with BB (or some of his commanders) who tries to snatch her. Meeting with Aokiji somewhen, found a poneglyph she can't read.. Or she gives a wrong reading, which is discovered later, for some reason and so on

You know, with all the big mysteries finally starting to get a little more panel time, this would be a perfect opportunity for Oda to shine the spotlight on Robin and allow us to learn some of this important shit through the archaeologist who singularly reads Poneglyphs (including three of the four Roads) and is more knowledgeable than we’ve even been shown throughout the years. She’s long been locked in as an endgame character - I don’t mean that the series climax is the only time she should be relevant, just that her character is custom made for it - so she should start getting more smoke now that we’re hurtling toward the same :robinsweat:

Robin and Aokiji will probably never get along for what Aokiji has done to her friend I guess. But still it would be intriguing to witness a new encounter and perhaps discover spicy details about Aokiji's precise intentions. I think he is presumably just monitoring the BB Pirates in order to make sure to efficiently intervene somehow if something crazy occurred.

The interesting part for me is that during the Ohara incident Aokiji understood for the first time that the marines stink, same mindset as his "mentor" Garp, and then he spared Robin and the others cause he felt guilty. Also Robin doesn't see him as a real enemy after he didn't kill her on long ring island. There is not a really direct deep interaction between these 2 but still there is a bond on which Oda can work on if he wants to.

I'm just deluded about the lack of infos aquired during her 2 years with the Revos and in general no mention of it
Oda is probably keeping that for the moment SHs will meet Dragon and just making her focus on the Poneglyphs, which will be paid in Laugh Tale (imma tell you here: she'll be the 2nd most prominent SH after Luffy in that arc)

Oda simply does not seem to know what to do with her. He doesn't let her take initiative anymore and despite all the other Strawhats suffering from less screentime she seems to have it the worst.

As for things I would do different, I would pair her up with Franky more and have her reflect the same thirst for blood. They could basically be the fighting unit of the Strawhats along with Zoro that are the first to jump into the fray.

I'd also have her put her knowledge to use. Having an information network for the Strawhats centered on Robin would be great. A lot of the recent planning and agency seems to be taken away from the Strawhats, but that could easily be redirected by having Robin be the silent mastermind behind the scenes.
The Strawhats need to make an impression on the world, so have Robin pull the Grand Fleet members to the side and basically plan for them to do so. The big luggerheads in the Strawhats can't follow plans, so make Robin be the one that sets up the backup plans along with their allies like Law to keep things rolling. She was the #2 of a secret organization, so let her put those skills to use to achieve the Strawhats' goals.
