Arkham Asylum is the best in my opinion.

Maybe cause of nostalgic but i genuially appreciate how they made an 1 first game set in Arkham Asylum in an horror style.

All phases were memorable(Intensive Treatment, Medical Facility, Penitenciary, Botanic Garden).

All Scarecrow phases, Killer Croc's boss fight were masterpieces.

I also like how this game makes use of easter eggs as part of the Riddler side quest.

Some say this game has age "badly" because of gameplay, but i think this i not accurate at all.

The combat is very fluid and you can even hit 3 enemies at once(the only game with this feature), but the is too easy to lose your combo lol.

The stealth ain't as easy as the other games but there's still gimmicks you can elaborate, the explosive gel is too broken lol.

This game was a hell of a good start for a game series. 10/10

About Arkham City, that's probably the game i played the most.

This game was a huge improvment of the previous game, in terms of gameplay(especially combat), i think it's fair to say this redefined the formula of Arkham games.

I like how in this game, every villain has their own territory and henchmans lol.

There are more frequent dialogue sequences in City than Knight btw
Idk, City didnt have him talking to Alfred every 10 seconds. It had skippable cutscenes at worst.
That’s exactly what city had lmfao. Arkham Knight was mostly Oracle initially.
Is that any relevant lol?

Arkham Knight is just the peak of Arkham gameplay and added a lot of features, let alone the Batmobile.

Not at all. Just saying his criticism applies more to city than knight, even though it isn’t a real criticism.

I think Arkham Knight is the most unnecessarily over-hated game of all time. It is still a game that absolutely blows my mind a decade later.

People complain more about Batmobile which i disagree, i personally believe Batmobile is more of a character than just an vheicule in this game, which explains why Batmoblie has it's own combat gameplay/main missions/side missions. The only moment i don't like to use Batmobile, is during Arkham Knight boss fight.

I personal complaim bout this game is more releated with the lack of creativity in the boss fights. Also this game has the weakest plot history of the series, Paul Gini(writer of Arkham Asylum/City) is a better writer than Geoff Johns(writer of Arkham Knight), he should have endeed the series.

A very long time ago someone wanted to show me the Xbox 360 Batman Lego games, the new one will be peak
Considering the new Lego Batman game will have Arkham style combat and difficulty settings, definitely too lol.

Lego Batman games are fun, I remember dying laughing at the Joker doing an impression of Arnie's Mr Freeze in Lego Batman 3. Some more original lines than just mimicking his lines too IIRC?

Bruh lmao:

They're finally making Arkham World.

In the trailer tornado of Gamescom 2025, Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight stood out to me, and not just because it had Matt Berry as the voice of Lego Bane. The combat looks like it's got the counter mechanics of the Arkham games, and the traversal has Arkham-style grappling and gliding. Since neither Suicide Squad nor Gotham Knights was the follow-up to Arkham Knight we wanted, I guess Traveller's Tales decided to step up.

As spotted by Insider Gaming, Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight's open world will also include four of Gotham's islands, putting it one up on Arkham Knight's three (the islands of Bleake, Founders, and Miagani), and double the two zones of Arkham Origins (Old Gotham and New Gotham). Lego Batman 2 had an open Gotham as well, but just like Arkham Knight it only included three of the city's islands.

Here's hoping the city actually has civilians in it this time, because I've been waiting forever for a Batman game that lets you actually protect Gothamites from muggers and roving gangs of mimes, clowns, and the like.

It'll also have seven playable characters, which is unusual for the Lego games. Previously they've crammed in as many characters as possible, though many of them end up playing exactly like each other. With just seven to focus on, we might get some more bespoke personality in how they move and fight.

The seven characters, via WB's FAQ, are Batman, Batgirl, Catwoman, Commissioner Gordon, Nightwing, Robin, and Talia al Ghul. "Each character is equipped with unique skills, combos, and gadgets", the FAQ says, "like Batman's Batclaw, Jim Gordon's foam sprayer, Robin's line launcher, and Catwoman's whip." Ah, yes. Jim Gordon's iconic foam sprayer.

The other interesting thing about Legacy of the Dark Knight is that, while it looks like it includes a parody of Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight films, it's also spreading a net over the wider Batman universe, pulling in villains like the Penguin, Poison Ivy, and the Red Hood, just like the Arkham games did. While we've heard that Rocksteady is looking to make a singleplayer Arkham game after the unfortunate failure of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, in the meantime I'd be happy with a light-hearted take on the format, even if it's made out of Lego bricks and seems weirdly obsessed with rubber ducks for some reason.
Hmmm.....

The good news out of Warner Bros. Games, according to a new Bloomberg report, is that after the flop of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, Rocksteady Studios is looking to make a new singleplayer Batman game. The bad news, however, is pretty much everything else.

It's been a rough year for Warner. Hogwarts Legacy was a huge success, but the multiplayer Harry Potter game Quidditch Champions hasn't added up to much—there are currently just 90 people playing it on Steam—while Multiversus fizzled out quickly and recently halted development, and Suicide Squad also tanked badly and threw in the towel after just one year of post-launch content. Those failures cost a lot of money: In November 2024, Warner announced a $100 million loss "due to the underperforming releases, primarily MultiVersus this quarter," which landed on top of a $200 million loss driven by the failure of Suicide Squad.

The future is not much brighter, according to the Bloomberg report. Sources say the company has already put more than $100 million into the Wonder Woman game announced in 2021, but it was reportedly rebooted and given a new director in early 2024 and remains years away from release, if it makes it to release at all—apparently even that's not a certainty at this point. WB Games Montreal had apparently hoped to work on a major update to Gotham Knights—another superhero flop—but were told no; the studio eventually began work on a game based on the Flash, but that was scrapped after the 2023 film bombed at the box office.

The one clear bright spot amidst all this confusion is that Rocksteady, having tried its hand in the live service shooter genre with Suicide Squad, is now looking to return to the work its known for. Rocksteady earned acclaim for its singleplayer Batman: Arkham games, and as a side note each of the Arkham games, the most recent of which is nearly 10 years old, currently has a higher concurrent player count on Steam than Suicide Squad. But that ambition is years away from fruition.

Numerous sources laid the blame for Warner's videogame troubles on a lack of coherent direction under the leadership of CEO David Haddad, who announced in January that he's stepping down. JB Perrette, CEO and president of global streaming and games for Warner Bros. Discovery, said the company will "get right back to profitability in 2025," but acknowledged it will take longer to get back to levels of profitability the company expects.

"It will take two to three years to rebuild, reset to levels we want to be at," Perrette said. "But the bounce back is immediate as far as going from loss-making to profitability."

So there's a light of hope for fans of the Arkham games that maybe lessons have been learned, and some proper new Bat-action will be in hand someday. It's no guarantee, of course: Recall that Electronic Arts CEO Andrew Wilson very recently indicated after the failure of Dragon Age: The Veilguard to meet expectations—not a flop, just not as big a number as the C-suite wanted—that live service games are what people really want, and it's possible that whoever takes over from Haddad will reach the same conclusion, especially if we see one or two more breakout live service hits over the next year or so. Whatever happens, the only thing we can say for sure at this point is that it's not going to happen anytime soon.

I'm still mad that the Wonder Woman game is actually dead now too, sigh.

We need a new Arkham game, I'd love a Batman Beyond one especially. Beyond is extremely overdue a new game and a truly decent one at that too.

HMMMMMM.....

https://gamefragger.com/multiplatfo...rocksteady-exclusively-for-playstation-a27022

Earlier this month, there were reports that Rocksteady Studios, the developer of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League and the Batman: Arkham series, is currently working on a new single-play game involving the Dark Knight.

Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier claimed that Rocksteady is "looking to return to Batman for a single-player game," although he noted itw as still "years away from landing."

While details were admittedly vague, there is now a new rumor suggesting this game could be based on the Batman Beyond animated television series from DC and Warner Bros. The latest rumor comes by way of Lunatic Ignus, a somewhat reliable figure in the gaming industry.
According to Ignus, Batman Beyond will serve as a foundation for the upcoming video game, which is rumored to be a trilogy, and that storylines from the series could be expanded upon. The game will not be based on the animated show's style, however.

And now for the potentially troubling big of the rumor. The game is rumored to be a PlayStation exclusive. This would be a major shift for Rocksteady Studios, a subsidiary of Warner Bros. Games, who typically releases its games on multiple platforms.

To date, all of Rocksteady's Batman titles, from 2009's Arkham Asylum to 2015's Arkham Knight, have been released on PlayStation, Xbox, and even Nintendo consoles, as well as PC. The only exception was 2016's Batman: Arkham VR, which was released for PC and PS4. Rocksteady's latest game, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, was released as a multiplatform title.

If this Batman Beyond game is indeed the one Schreier was talking about, a release years from now would likely mean it would be a PlayStation 6 title. Of course, this is all speculation right now as none of the parties involved -- PlayStation, WB Games, or Rocksteady Studios -- have commented on the rumor. Still, even the pure prospect of a Batman Beyond game will likely generate excitement among DC fans.

Created and developed by Paul Dini, Bruce Timm, and Alan Burnett and produced by Warner Bros. Television Animation, Batman Beyond is a futuristic continuation of the The New Batman Adventures, which, in turn, was a continuation of the critically acclaimed Batman: The Animated Series. The series aired for 52 episodes from January 1999 to December 2001 and served as the chronological end to what is now referred to as the DC Animated Universe. While not as revered as Batman: The Animated Series, Batman Beyond was considered a hit, receiving critical acclaim and gaining a cult following.

Looks fucking great, almost like it was made for American Horror Story too, especially Season 2 - Asylum funnily enough lol.

I'd legit watch that happily.
