Character Discussion Sabo and Ace if Ace hadn't died

Just curious, if Ace hadn't died, and Sabo was still introduced as a character what kind of devilfruit would you have wanted to see him have? Or what kind of devilfruit do you think would have worked well for his character?

Edit: it doesn't have to be something we've seen, you're welcome to make a new df as long as it makes at least a little sense.

Don't think sabo will need a Df but just for his fighting style a zoan would have been perfect for him

If Ace was alive, and ideally even with Ace being dead, I would have preferred Sabo without a fruit. He was so cool without one

If Ace was alive, he would have been as strong as Luffy or even stronger because of his starter experience and potential. As for Sabo, I would preferred if Sabo was a full-fledged Haki master but as for devil fruit, I think Mera fitting Sabo the most.

So I've thought it over a bit and with luffys fruit making him the sun God which is associated with fire and light I'd prefer to give sabo something elementally similar. The first obvious thoughts as far as devilfruit we've already seen would be Marcos, kaidos, or kizarus but I don't want to kill off any characters to recycle their df. With sabo having developed good haki I'd choose a zoan type for him but wanting to have it maintain its relation to the fire element it would need to be a mythical zoan.

I decided on a mythical salamander fruit. In mythology they're impervious to fire, they live inside volcanos and are able to both create and extinguish flames. It would be similar to kaidos lava dragon form without the ability to fly.
