Super brief post today, I just wanted to point out a detail that I recently realized many people are not aware of:
That Vice Admiral Sakazuki was a part of the Marine Fleet sent to stop Edd War from happening.
This is a great illustration of why I think Oda loves Akainu as much as he does. Sakazuki has always consistently been an extremely important character hidden in the background of most major incidents, and hell post-timeskip he has been the largest recurring major villain, appearing in literally every single [major] arc post timeskip in one role or another. He is definitely one of the characters that Oda has spent a ton of time giving long-term development and has big plans for in the future.
Here’s to hoping Oda doesn’t fuck him up in the end. Lol
