So there’s a lot more traction for Zoro vs Killingham and Sanji vs Sommers in the community - moreso, the latter. Since Sommers is ideologically a foil for Sanji it makes sense this fight takes place. So how does the fight go? How will Sanji negate the regen/immortality has? Do you think the fight will be quick or do you think Sanji will struggle? Will Sommers take hostages to take advantage of Sanji’s love?

I've been thinking about it and I'm honestly not entirely sure
There are quite a few ways Oda could spice it up
Sommers is a terrible guy with little to no honor who relishes in other people's suffering so I doubt he'd have any problem taking hostages. I'd rather not see Nami or Robin relegated to a damsel in distress role but if Oda plans on including hostages it's pretty obvious he'd choose a woman for a Sanji matchup so there's that
If there aren't any hostages then I think Sommers will give Sanji a bit of trouble though I doubt it'll be extreme diff. The main problem will be bypassing his regen which he will obviously unlock the counter for mid fight (ACoC)
I do feel like Oda is laying the groundwork for Sanji completely overcoming Sommers' vines due to their unique interaction with love though. Like with the way it's being written it feels a pretty obvious that we're gonna get a scene showing that Sanji's passion burns hotter than any vines could handle
I couldn't really assign a diff to this matchup though... I'll go with high-diff just to be safe

Sommers will just regenerate and chip away to make it a difficult fight until Sanji gets his CoC/PoL powerup.
iirc parts of Sommers' ability is to use strength of emotions against victims. I wouldn't be surprised if that bypasses exoskeleton protection. It'd be cool to see Sanji actively rely on his healing ability against a Knight.
