Powers & Abilities Sanji's germa power ups aren't unearned

I don't know if people are trolling or just legitimately aren't thinking about this hard enough. No, sanji wasn't given "unearned power ups". Are they the same thing as advanced haki? No. But just because sanji didn't train for them doesn't mean they are unearned. Need I remind you why sanji was given the raid suit to begin with?

Sanji had the opportunity to dip out of whole cake island with Luffy and let the family who abused him for all his life be brutally murdered by the big mom pirates. Instead, He went back and saved the people who made his childhood a living hell, not because he likes any of them(bar reiju), but rather out of his own code of honor.

Sanji helped the vinsmokes when he had every single reason not to. And as a result, the vinsmokes were in sanji's debt. This led to them saving sanji in the end of WCI and giving him the raid suit as well. The raid suit and any powers derived from it are a direct result of sanji's selflessness. In what world this is somehow an unearned power up, I cannot tell.

The truth is, Sanji and Zoro are different characters and Sanji's conflicts are different from Zoro's conflicts. Zoro's character revolves this concept of strength. He's supposed to be the Guts of one piece. So obviously, his power up is going to be something he trains for. Sanji is a cook, he is the guy who fed his enemies because he didn't want them to starve. An arc that focuses on sanji will obviously focus on that part of sanji's character and not try to make sanji out to be a blonde zoro, like some people want him to be. Ultimately, I think its really pathetic when trolls on this forum needlessly bash sanji for not measuring up to zoro's standards.

It's unearned, but people need to stop acting like he's a character based on earning shit.

He's a pirate, and a cook. His strength in unarmed combat is simply a convenience. He doesn't strive to surpass people, he doesn't isolate himself to train, he doesn't want revenge when you beat his ass. He'll refuse to fight and let himself get killed, or pull a gun on you when he has the drop because he isn't on some warrior shit. He's the best cook in the world and spent his time learning power lunches instead of some bomb ass armament when he had two years.

He's very crafty, but it's not about flexing if he can get by without it. Not even tempted by the Raid Suit strength. This motherfucker... his peers (Law at 500, Bege at 330, and Caesar at 340) calculate for a shot at a Yonko but he strolls right into one and decides against poisoning the fucking cake.

Tldr he doesn't even want this shit but it sucks for Queen just the same
