Hi, Worstgen!
I wanted to share this quick theory about Blackbeard's subordinate Sanjuan Wolf, which I hope wasn't shared before. We know that he is so big (180m) thanks to a devil fruit currently unknown. My take is that he is a balloon man who gets so huge through inflation, and I'll go even further by stating that his real self is the smallest giant ever. Why would I think this? Simple:
Gustavus.
Gustavus is one of the main characters in the tales of the baron of Munchausen. Others are the baron himself, who is tired of how people have forgotten about fantasy and dreams and only live according to facts and science; Adolphus, an incredible sharpshooter who wears a bicorn; Berthold, a really fast man; Albrecht, the strongest man in the world; Vulcan, a really hairy, corrupt king with mechanic prosthesis in his arms; a queen of the moon who is beheaded; or Death itself, disguised as a doctor.
Now, all of them may ring a bell. You can replace each of these characters with Blackbeard, Auger, Laffite, Burgess, Pizarro, Catarina (Crescent Moon and likes to behead beautiful girls, in case the reference isn't clear) and Doc Q. I still need to research deeper in order to check other strong similarities with the rest of the crew, but Wolf may be related to Gustavus. Gustavus is a friend of the baron, a guy of short stature with amazing lungs, so much that he can inhale a lot of air and exhale bursts of wind. This made me think of a balloon fruit that would mimic the mechanism of Gear Third, which, as we all know, was defined by Luffy as resembling the body of a giant.
Not only would this explain how Wolf can become bigger. It also makes sense considering his balloon body shape. It'd be funny for Oda to turn a dwarf like Gustavus into the biggest giant ever (who in reality would be the smallest). If Wolf likes to stay out of the ship, it would also explain how he travels since he would just float without needing to touch the bottom. And Wolf using wind pressure to fight and being called Colossal Battleship as he is could match a potential versus with Franky using the ultimate version of his Shogun merged with the Thousand Sunny itself and using wind themed techniques to fight (like he already does: Coup de Vent as himself, General Cannon with his robot, Gaon Cannon with the ship).
To summarize:
Wolf, like the rest of his crew, is based on a character from the tales of the baron of Munchausen. More specifically, he'd be based on Gustavus, a short guy with very powerful lungs. Therefore, Wolf would have a balloon paramecia and would use air to fight, potentially foreshadowing a battle between two "battleships" who attack through wind.
I hope you liked it, and share your opinions!
