Having grown up in Whole Cake Island for a full year and a half shortly after Streusen had made it, he was kidnapped on a raft by some of Mother Carmels former boss Madame Li Corice. Part of the operations she was escorting the one in charge of all smugglings to North Blue and then 1 and 1/4 year old Saran to the Calm belt as she was headed towards the North Blue. It took them a while but finally they entered the Calm belt after 2 months.
At age 2 he was sharp enough to realize he needed to escape these smugglers before he was bought off by rich people in North Blue.
Disaster struck when the ship subsided, as they were greeted by a large Neptunian Sea-King calling itself "Hunter". Hunter was a very high-level Sea King, and was able to speak in minds of children, albeit very little. Saran waved goodbye to Hunter, as the smugglers tried killing Hunter
Saran D. Rox was borne but abandoned by Big Mom shortly after Perospero was born. A son of Rox D. Xebec, he swore he would have revenge on Big Mom for abandoning him.

A year passed on the Calm Belt as they edged close to its exit into the North Blue. All came to a halt when Hunter the Red Sea King, returned with three other giant Neptunians, and absolutely destroyed the ship! Luckily Saran was saved by Hunter and brought to a desolate island
This island was a three pronged island, shaped like a fidget spinner, and had 3 great beasts who wished to conquer the other tribe.
1. Mothra the Insectoid King
2. Rodan the Sky King
3. King-G the Scorch Lord
Saran D. Rox took a full year and a half, before he defeated all three of them. 4 MONTHS for Mothra, 6 months for Rodan, and 8 months for King-G.
There respective bounties at the time of there defeat:
Mothra- 450 Million
Rodan- 600 Million
King-G- 750 Million
