Character Discussion Say One Good Thing about Sanji!

Imo, I like his fighting style.

You don't see many anime characters fighting with their legs only and making them looks cool and badass more than they should be.

Only other character that uses legs as a fighting style that I can think of is Shinra Kusakabe from Fire Force.

This is totally not a Fire Force anime promotion or anything lol.

He's reliable and has a ton of cool protector moments where he saves the crewmembers.

There's a ton of good things about Sanji, his design, fighting style, personality when Oda allows him to shine etc.

The problem is that Oda keeps turning him into a punching bag and overemphasizing his ridiculous behaviour when it comes to women.

That's why he's not my favourite. He's insanely hit or miss; some of the time he's a 100 and other times he's a -10.

Well, that's more of a anime problem. Toei doesn't animate Sanji's Diable Jambe correctly and smoothly most of the time.

He's a well written character and great character development. One thing what I like what Oda did with him is he's a conflicted character, battling himself and his morals.

Sanjis character is the most fleshed out of the straw hats, even more so than Luffys. When oda focuses on Sanjis character and conflicts he’s the best written character in the manga, that being said, it also makes it more jarring when oda makes Sanji do stuff out of character and makes his gag seem worse than it ever has been despite there being no actual change in it.

Feels like Oda is doing this on purpose. Making gags for Sanji trying to balance out his characterization.
