As we have seen, mythical zoan awakenings can effect the environment, similar to paramecia awakening
So what could we expect from the awakening of Sengoku the Buddha? Well, assuming he has an awakening, in addition to getting an awakened form, his powers should also effect the environment. But how would this work?
imo, Sengoku's awakening will be based off the Buddhist concept of the buddha dimensions.
In Mahayana Buddhism, each of the buddha's reside in their own dimensions. And buddhist often aspire to be reborn in these dimensions so they can reach enlightenment under the guidance of a buddha.

This is what Pure land buddhism is based off of.
I believe that Sengoku's awakening will be based off this concept. He could outright create a dimension of his own, like Brulee and her mirror fruit does. Or this could be more similar to Law's power, where Sengoku can create a sphere under the influence of his DF. What can he do in this sphere/dimension? Well that's for Oda to decide.
But given how even Roger praised Sengoku's strength, we shouldn't be surprised if the Buddha fruit turns out to be extremely broken.
