About the timing, I think most of those in that famous double spread are endgame opponents. Some can fall before and final war and some during, but it's all end of the manga thing.

If Sabo and Shamrock fights, it will be just a scuffle/not a decisive fight, maybe even done to create a deeper connection in order for their final fight.
