this is the kind of stuff i mean lol. "shanks' entire character is about being a good pirate." since when? shanks' entire character is

- keeping the balance while waiting for something.
hes not saving the needy or freeing oppressed peoples or whatever. he hangs out drinking, kills some people, lets a bunch of frauds and criminals ride off his clout. the only person he cares about is Luffy.

Shanks is constantly pushed in our face as this super good person protecting pirates and people who can’t protect themselves. Fucking he said “Is Kid healed up from his previous fight?” Before he fought him again and only took it seriously cause kid was about to blow up shanks’ fleet.

Shanks having influence over the highest ranking members of the WG and Marines doesn't make him a good guy.

If executed properly, Shanks is a man sacrificing his whole arm as a very real bet, in order to inspire / groom a willpower-ignited sun god as his pawn, possibly leading to World Government's permanent destruction, impotence or extreme alteration, and exploit that entire situation to his benefit.
So if executed properly, Shanks has the capability to stand as One Piece's shonen version of Johan Liebert. A masterclass.
