After the revelation of Shanks' look-alike in One Piece Chapter 1121 spoilers, I have concluded that this guy is the one who actually gave Whitebeard his scars, and he is the one Whitebeard has been talking about.
WHY?
It's because in Chapter 966, when Whitebeard and Roger fought, Whitebeard did not have a scar, and this event occurred many years after the God Valley incident. Fans have been speculating that Whitebeard and Garling fought at God Valley, and that Garling then gave him a scar.
Look at the way Whitebeard has said it on Shanks. He said, "When I Look at Your Face...". Whitebeard probably had this scar 10-20 years ago from the present which at this time, Shanks lookalike must be in his twenties.
What do you guys say about this?
