More than a year ago, I was convinced that Shiryu was on his way to Wano. I made a video about it, predicting that in a few chapters he would arrive, slay Kaido, and take his and Orochi's Devilfruit. The Dragonfruit, he would feed to his sword. Blackbeard would receive the Eight-Headed-Snake-Fruit. The timeline was clearly wrong. 50 chapters later, I again think that Shiryu's Wano Heist is close. Yamato stayed behind in Wano, not because she wanted to, but because she had to. Someone will threaten Wano, someone around the level of the Oniprincess.
The Wano Coverstory will play out just like the Whole Cake Island one did. There, Titanic Captains 3 and 10 invaded to steal something (Pudding). So 2. Captain Shiryu, and perhaps 9th Captain Doc Q, will come to Wano. Their target will be Devilfruits. Yamato will have to repell them, but they will still get what they will have come for. Doc Q can easily fly to Wano. It would also be funny to see male Yamato for a couple seconds. She will do a better job than Katakuri.
Shiryu could very well be from Wano, or atleast his ancestors. Should be common knowledge by now: Shiriyu's "of the rain" sounds like Raizo's "of the mist", he is a great swordsman, used a Samurai expression when he cut down guards in Impeldown, is born on the Grandline, and so on.
I believe the Blackbeard Pirates will attack the Redhair Pirates at the end of the Elbaf Arc. Shiryu should still be too weak to take out Beckmann. Apart from sneak attacks, he couldn't do much against Garp. He needs a Devilfruit for his sword. Blackbeard needs his third DF against Shanks. This Coverstory is a convenient opportunity to squeeze some Blackbeard progress in right before Ragnarök starts.
