Compared to the other admirals, Aramaki really got the short end of the stick. He appeared at the tail end of a massive arc with a gajillion things going on that was trying to wrap up as quickly as possible so the story could move on to the next thing. He briefly fought the Scabbards + Yamato/Momo, before getting scared away by Shanks. Even if the guy gets some spotlight later on, first impressions go a long way and he can’t change how his introduction did him dirty
I feel like if he was introduced at Egghead, he would’ve gotten a bit more time to shine. Granted I can 100% understand why Oda went with Kizaru instead, given the Sabaody parallels and Kizaru’s connection with Vegapunk/Sentomaru. But on the other hand, I think Aramaki’s CD bootlicker personality would really tie into this whole narrative with Kuma and Bonney and how their lives were ruined by the Celestial Dragons
