Controversial So like why/how does Watsuki still have a job in the industry?

Especially in light of the firing of Toru Furuya (Sabo's old VA) who's crime didn't involve a child, but was ultimately let go (and seemingly blacklisted), and yet Rurouni Kenshin carries on.

Is this just a Japan thing or?...
I thought Kenshin ended years ago even before his crimes came to light

It’s probably because as a mangaka, Watsuki isn’t really the face of his product.

His name is on the book and gets mentioned in the credits, but Watsuki’s personal life is largely irrelevant to the manga itself.

Hence it’s harder for someone like that to get cancelled.

On the other hand if you’re an actor, politician, or influencer, who you are as a person is very important. You are the face of your product.

So you kinda need to have a somewhat decent reputation to make it in those fields.

Another Watsuki thread...
The only Watsuki thread that isn't directly about Oda :kata:

Curious I have no idea about Japanese law but Watsuki’s contribution to manga industry is big deal to them .

I think Watsuki was probably released because of Japanese age of consent thing . Unfortunately Japan being modern society have some weird laws I personally think they should update themselves with modern society .
